Lulay Record Report

Lulay is primed to destroy most of the remaining records for MSU, and the Big Sky. Some interesting #'s I saw - 4 TD passes and he moves into a tie for 1st in Bobcat history. Passing DD for total yards should come in the 1st Q. And a really interesting one is that he needs 981 passing yards to surpass DD. Most likely he'll surpass DD's passing total DURING THE CAT\GRIZ GAME!!! Can't wait for that announcement. :)

Knocking on wood and keeping fingers crossed that TL stays healthy for these remaining 7 games!

Catatac, who currently holds the MSU records for passing yards and total yards? Also, how yards does Lulay need to pass DD for total yards?

Lulay holds both the total yards and passing yards records at MSU by a wide margin. He needs about 100 - 150 yards to pass DD in the BSC record books for total yards. Jamie Martin holds both the BSC passing record and total yards record. Lulay will have to average better than 300 yards per game to break those.

Thanks Gtapp. Damn, he is one impressive QB.

Lulay can pass Martin for the total yardage record, but I don't think he can beat Martins passing record. Damn near all of Martins total yards were passing, he only had 80 non-passing yards in his career.

Keep in mind that 1-AA didn't allow playoff games be included when DD was playing. Kramer said that on sports nuts Tuesday. I don't remember when that all changed but that's the fact. No I am not a griz fan, just telling the facts.

Thanks for point that out, it is too bad that when they make a change like that that they can't adjust the record books to reflect the records correctly.

Either way, if Travis doesn't get one more yard passing or rushing he is an Amazing QB that has brought Bobcat football to a new level. The same should be said for Dave Dickenson, both are class acts!

Yes they are both class guys, and have done amazing things for their program. The only thing Lulay has to do is win a championship.

& win a payton award.

Anybody hear about the Payton watch list this year? Certainly Lulay and Meyer are on it?

Yep you are right, unless Travis leads us to a NC and wins the Payton he won't be good.

It was just revised:

BSC:

Lulay, Meyer, and Hilliard are all on it. Lulay has virtually no shot at it IMO.

Defense:
Jeff Charleston, DE, Idaho State
Brady Fosmark, DE, Weber State

I think Lulay will finish in the top four but it will be tough for him to win because of the numbers some of the other players are putting up this year. If the Payton award was equivalent to an MVP award then I think Lulay would win going away.

Being mad at you would be like being mad a little girl for kicking me in the shins. She doesn't know any better. ;)

So to be fair and compare like numbers. Taking away Travis' two playoff games subtract 411 yards from his passing numbers and 424 yards from his all-purpose offensive numbers.

That's not what I meant. What I meant was that would cement his legacy even more, on a national stage.

I think Travis has a better shot at BSC MVP because of the numbers of people like Meyer. But, I think it would be hard pressed to say another player in the Big Sky means more to their team's success.

Meyer or Lulay for BSC MVP will get settled next week. Don't you think?

I have to agree here. It depends on whose team wins and who has the better individual game. I think as far as MVP goes, who is more valuable to their team than Travis Lulay is to the Bobcats? That alone should be worth an MVP award.
