The PA guy!

Here is a quote from another thread......

"The PA guy is also still lacking quite a bit. He seems to be the last person in the stadium to know who made the tackle, and did anyone else notice when he missed the fumble by Papich on the 5 and he yelled "First down......" leading up to a Lumberjacks first down? I don't think this is going to get any better this year. "

That WAS embarrasing, but he was a little more patient after that calling for first down. Actually it was the fumble by Gatewood when PA guy screwed up, if he did on Papich's fumble too I didn't notice.

Does anyone know, is this the same announcer as last year???

The reason I ask is that at the EWU game, I believe, one of our receivers got blasted before the ball arrived and there was no call. The PA guy announces, "I guess THAT isn't pass interfenence" or something to that effect. I fully expected a flag from the refs. This was in the 4th quarter after we had been flagged numerous times for touchy PI calls.

Do you like his lead in to 3rd downs?

It's a little strange, I think. We know that it's Bobcat Stadium and the score and what time is left in the game or quarter. However, I have to admit that it's less annoying than Idaho State's PA announcer who yells "It's thiiiiiiiiird down!" as loud as possible. That was really annoying.

It is ok.....occasionally, he needs to mix it up a little bit.

I have done a lot of PA work and it is difficult not to get into a rut. If it is bad the heirarchy will let him know.

I think this announcement should be made:

Smoking in the stadium is not allowed.....NOOOOOOOO SMOKING!

If he is going to continue his "third down" ramblings, he should start it a little earlier. Maybe he could start it as soon as he sees that the 2nd down play was unsuccessful. Give the crowd some time to work itself into a frenzy instead of waiting until the qb is bringing the team up to the line.

I have never done bump set spike, just "block that kick" if you know what I mean.

I thought the PA guy did a great job today! He was very effective at getting the crowd in the game on third downs.

He is still only mediocre at best. He called Marudas "Marudu" a couple times, and called Siataga for a sack when it was really Bobby Daly. He did finally pronounced Saucido's name right, though. He got all into his third down rant he does AFTER CSUS called a timeout... He is annoying at best. I find myself shaking my head more often than not when he speaks....

The music player REALLY NEEDS TO STOP playing the music when the offense is on the field. Seriously, do we need a song every down?? If anything I also find this annoying, and I would think the players do too.

Damn, I would hate to have you for a boss!
The guy is getting better all the time. Give him a break and don't be so damn critical.

Thumbs us to the PA guy!

Amen, the PA guy is getting better-give him a break. It seems like some people on BN will find any excuse to whine.

The PA guy has to go. This late in the season and he still calls out the wrong player and/or mispronounces their names. Instead of Mollohan, he called him (mole-haulin). Is it possible that the PA guy is actually pretty decent and that he has BAD spotters? I don't know, but he should know the players by now!!! :bag:

I thought the music sucked saturday also. The first half of the 1st quarter I thought that the music was appropriate then went down hill from there.

And I especially liked the Touchdown catch by our tight end - Brandon Bostich. :D

If you guys want to bitch about the PA guy wait till Saturday. IF EWU has the same guy as last year you can expect him to boom out the down and yards to go as Lulay goes through his snap count, and music to still be playing until after MSU snaps the ball.
