This SUCKS!
Anyone know more about this? I know Sherman was pissed after the Vikings game, but I never expected he'd get waived.

He'll get picked up by somebody......I dont like the Packers anyway, at least now I don't have to root for them.

I'm not a huge Packer watcher, but I tried to take notice whenever they were on. Focusing on the DB's I thought Joey definetely outplayed Ahmad Carroll. I saw Carroll get his drawers handed to him many times.
Joey should get picked up, maybe by the Vikes, their corners can't cover anyone. I heard their radio announcers get on them pretty hard.

I haven't watched Joey play this year as I don't care much for the NFL. But, how does a guy go from being the starter in week 1 to being waived this early? Has anyone watched him? Did he not play well?
I know nothing is guaranteed in the NFL, but this surprises me.

Joey never got a fair shot IMO. I remember last season they went out of their way to put almost anyone on the field they could to keep Joey sitting. It looks like Sherman just didn't like him for whatever reason. I hope he ends up getting picked up by a team that needs DB help and he tears it up. I don't think Ahmad Carrol is the guy though. He has gotten way more of a chance than Joey and has mostly sucked.

I don't know. Joey is injured a lot, not real fast or quick (as compared to other NFL corners) and hates to tackle. I hope he gets picked up and gets a chance.

Sherman can go to hell. He's a terrible coach, and he's going to get canned after the season. Anybody that keeps giving a horrible player like Ahmad Carroll chance after chance after chance, only to see him screw up on 90% of his plays, doesn't have a clue how to coach.
Joey will get picked up by a better team, with better coaches. The way he was treated in Green Bay makes me think this is a good thing for Joey. Go stuff it in Sherman's face, Joey!

I know the Raiders are looking for some DB's!

I'd love to see Joey sporting the Silver and Black!

That's too bad. I imagine that the packers are trying to make room for a big name DB.

This article sheds a little more light on the move. It sounds like Joey made noise after being benched for one play and Sherman didn't like it. Did you notice the part where it said Joey won the fight he and Carrol got into? At least he has to take away from Green Bay. Bad choice by the Packers. I don't think Carroll is going to get it done myself.

I wish they had footage of Joey beating Carroll "handily"

I have watched him plenty the last 2 years when he has played (about all I watch when they are D) and he has given up a big play maybe once or twice? Yeah, he let that Viking TE blow by him last year, but I have seen a lot of other corners do that same thing. I agree with everything Thomas probably said to him. There is obviously favoritism going on out there as Ahmad Carrol is AWFUL. Even Al Harris has given up more long plays (yes he guards the best receivers usually) and he has even fallen down too so this is total B.S. I think.
Anyway, I'm sure Joey knows he can play and I am positive someone is going to pick him up. Hopefully it is my Chargers

They could use some depth at corner where he could possibly become the starter etc.

Sherman is just covering his a** and does not want to admit that his third round pick was better than his second.

This really irritates me. Joey was never given the chance to succeed in Green Bay. He worked hard in the off-season and became the starter, only to lose it to Carroll through injury. I go to school with people who know Carroll and say he is a complete chump, and they actually were hoping Joey would supplant him as the starter. I have watched GB more than my beloved Seahawks since Joey has played for them, and let me tell you, he is much better than Carroll.
Hopefully this turns out better for him in the long run. Live and Learn.

Third better than his FIRST! Not only that, Sherman was GM when he made the first round pick for Carroll. It seems he is trying to make Carroll into a star even though he doesn't have what it takes.

Thomas was burned on that last play that allowed Minn. to get in FG range(? - 56-yarder) a couple weeks ago. I've never liked Sherman, he reminds me of Paul O'Neill of the Yankees. The guy always has that I'm pissed look on his face.
