From the Smack Board...

" B/C I think the Cats have a very dangerous team this year. There are several reasons heading into the Brawl why I am very concerned about State's squad. This is setting up as the type of game that the Bobcats win (particularly against the Griz).

1. Home game
2. Senior quarterback who is loved and respected by the team, coaches and fans (who also happens to be a helluva player). The team will play for him and do not want him to go out a loser to us.
3. We have a RS frosh at QB.
4. The game is must win (at this point) for an MSU playoff.
5. Even if MSU is not in the hunt come gameday, they can still play spoiler for our post season designs.
6. The Brawl is anyone's game any given year anyway; this year is no different.

I will run my smack the week of, rest assured, but don't think for a minute that this game won't be the bare-knuckle, f-you, your momma and your sister, knock down, drag out that it always is. And I am not certain the Griz will come out on top. "

Just noticed this on the Smack and thought it made enough sense from a dUMb and dUMber to be posted here.

I agree with our friend.

If the Cats beat Sac and EWU they WILL beat UM.

If the Cats drop either of those games I would have to give the edge to UM. When our players have something to play for they are unstoppable, but when they don’t they look awful (i.e. 2004 Cat/Griz).

This is the most true statement of the year for Bobcat Nation.

If that's true, then MSU should win the NC because they currently have that "to play for" which means they will be unstoppable, right?

Seriously, every game from here out, we have "something to play for"; are you predicting an 8 game winning streak, mq?

I am talking about ONLY the Cat/Griz game.

Wait a second; you mean if Cat/Griz means something, we're unstoppable but we cannot convert that same "attitude" into all our other games where there is a lot at stake?

Why not?

You ask "why not?"

Answer: COACHING!

You raise a great point El Gato. I don't know what the solution is but that sense of urgency was NOT THERE at last weeks 2nd half. Why not?
I believe that we will see the need for these next 3 games to be b@lls to the wall and the attitude will be there.
