Not too long ago...
...someone here made mentioned of a "players-only" meeting.
I've heard that Saturday's post-game VICTORY locker room was quieter than after a loss.
It sounds as though the players themselves were as disappointed with their overall performance as were a number of fans (including myself).
It will not surprise me in the least to hear of our Senior leaders (Lulay, Mollohan, etc) calling one of these meetings in order to rip some a$$, clear the air, and generally pump everyone up for the next 3 games. I think it is painfully obvious to all of us that the performance we saw Saturday will NOT get us into the post-season and probably won't even get us a victory over the Griz.
I hope that our team leaders will decide that it's simply time for them to step up, take charge and do whatever they can to ensure maximum performances for the remainder of their careers; anything less will be even more disappointing than the 0-11 start to Kramer's tenure...

I think Gato was saying that they should hold one of those meetings, not that they have yet.

I am sure they know, that in order to win out, they need to play harder. I do not think that we need to tell them this. They won on Saturday and are still in cruise control. Let's get some positive energy going rather than all this bitching and moaning- I am sick of listening to this...the season is still ours for the taking. GO CATS!

Suckit, I am with you. Even though the NAU game was less than I expected, I came away with some positives.
#1 Defense has improved, some pressure on the QB and thet were gang tackling.
#2 Good to see Bolton on the field, I was afraid we might have seen the last of him.
#3 Penalties, much improved.
#4 Offense was not clicking, but when it got down to the nut cutting they stepped up to the plate.
It seems to me that the Cats only play the level of their opponent. The history of the Cats, as of late. I hope that we see continued improvement against Sac State.

Anything less than post season WINS this year is a slap in the face. No playoffs, and I think Kramers job will finally be in dire straits!El_Gato wrote:...I hope that our team leaders will decide that it's simply time for them to step up, take charge and do whatever they can to ensure maximum performances for the remainder of their careers; anything less will be even more disappointing than the 0-11 start to Kramer's tenure...

It's possible for Karmer's career to be in dire straits? But he's finished one game over .500 for the past three seasons.Cat Pride wrote:A performance like Saturday wont keep us within 10 of the Griz!El_Gato wrote:...I think it is painfully obvious to all of us that the performance we saw Saturday will NOT get us into the post-season and probably won't even get us a victory over the Griz....

What a bunch of whiners! We are sitting here in control of our own destiny and people are already asking for Kramer's head!? We have the best QB that we may ever have, a string of exciting receivers, a running game that, i think, can be good any game now, the best linebacker core I can remember and the best pass defense in the conference. I think we should be looking forward to this talented bunch in the final games of their careers rather than bitching about things that are already in the past this season. We have three games left to win and when we do that I will be in the front of the line for home playoff tickets- whose comin' with me!?

I agree with you on the talent part. So if this team doesnt make playoffs, where is justification that Kramer keeps his job?suckitgriz wrote:What a bunch of whiners! I am not one to call for the coaches job, but in this case, if MSU does not get to the playoffs, then I think something is seriously wrong. What has Kramer done in the last 5 years to be asked back in '06?BobcatLionFan wrote:You have to be kidding.Cat Pride wrote: Anything less than post season WINS this year is a slap in the face. I know there are 3 games left still, and I will be cheering the boys on all the way to the end, but Kramer better improve on things in a big way and in a short time to prevent the Cats from finishing 6-5 yet again.

Great! Let's worry about the next three weeks before getting all negative and asking for Kramers' job. Remember what the crowds were like before Kramer- there was no buzz about the program, no one went to the games the jizz had a huge streak on us...let's remember what Kramer has done and what could be this year.Cat Pride wrote:I am not one to call for the coaches job, but in this case, if MSU does not get to the playoffs, then I think something is seriously wrong. I'll drop it. I will be at Bobcat stadium rain or shine, good times and bad. I just see the potential of this team, knowing its Lulay/Mollohan last year and wanting these guys to go out on top.
Lets go Cats, beat SSU, and we will take it from there.
Side note, it sure is nice to bitch about winning isnt it?!?!?!

I think Kramer has done a good job of selling the program not only to the fans, but to the team itself! I think he has taken a team with some talent at specific places (QB, WR, LB) and filled in with kids who want to be Bobcats like Brant Birkeland, Peder Jensen, Toph Grenfell, and Ryan Force. There are not many jock courses at MSU and we still win the President's trophy. I think we can all see that we don't have the most physical team, not the biggest team, and probabaly not the most athletically gifted team, but coach Kramer has them thinking that they can compete with anyone in the conference which is a feat in itself (subtract Travis Lulay if you need proof).
I think that to win out this year or any year, we have to play inspired football, limit mistakes, and get a few breaks along the way. We're not going to over power anyone. If this team was one that could dominate anyone we would have done it on the ground with smash mouth football. As it is the only game we can say that we dominated was SFA and they didn't know how we played and were a young team when they came into Bozeman.

Holy Crap! Did you just say that? I don't even have to ask you if you go to egriz as I see you post on there all the time. As another Griz fan once said, those that live in glass houses........jagur1 wrote:Cat Pride wrote:Side note, it sure is nice to bitch about winning isnt it?!?!?!

The other thing that Kramer has done is bring in all of this talent. Where would we be without the transfers at wide receiver. The faults they have is in not committing to the run game long enough. None of our backs have had enough attmepts to establish themselves. I think if we do not make the playoffs there will be some shakeups in the assistant areas but not at Kramers level.

Sorry to beat the dead horse... but sure, fire the assistants b/c none of this is Kramers fault.tetoncat wrote:I think if we do not make the playoffs there will be some shakeups in the assistant areas but not at Kramers level.
And if Kramer is the reason for bringing in all the talent, then if the talent doesnt perform he has to be held accountable.
