Where was Murray?

As I watched the game unfold, at times with tons of frustration, I did not see more than 1 serious attempt go towards Murray.

I saw him open several times and wondered if Lulay even considered him as an option. What is the news about Murray?

celtic cat saw them arguing on the sideline during the game. I hope they get it resolved and leave it at the last game. Aren't these two roommates or do I have my wires crossed?

Hmm. They do need to lay it to rest. TL should look his way more there are many open routes being run.

I did not want to post this on friday before the game but murray was up on campus on friday wearing a cast on his foot. I would imagine that had something to do with why the ball was not thrown to his side. I don't think is serious and from looking at his speed on saturday I would imagine that he is almost at 100%.

I was dissapointed with Murray as well. I felt that he needed to get more looks than he did. I know gatewood is great, but if he keeps making critical mistakes, it is going to kill us. Tramaine has been solid all year.

Also, the play Murray got so upset on was when Gatewood dropped the touchdown pass. Wouldn't have been an issue if Gatewood catches the ball.

I thought Murray looked confused half the game. He kept looking at people to tell him where to line up and quit his routes. Honestly, I think he was wide open a couple times because the D realized there was something weird going on. Everyone around us figured he must of been sick or something. I thought they should have tried out Brown or Lulay or Rundle...

Guinn had another nice game. It's nice to see him getting some opportunities. He rarely lets us down, either.

Maybe he (Murray)should quit acting like TO and start acting like a team player. He was up near the top in receptions for yardage but fell this week. I hope he isn't upset just because of that!

Thats quite a leap isn't it? C'mon, isn't it a little soon to start comparing him to T.O.?

I am sorry, but that is complete b.s. Whatever happened Saturday, let it rest. (We did win, didn't we!)I am pretty sure that everyone needs to become one cohesive unit in order to win this whole thing out. The last thing the team needs is comments like yours. Keep it to yourself, please.

I liked to see that murray was fired up. When Gatewood dropped that touchdown pass everyone should have been fired up. I like to see a guy out there with some fire and showing emotion when people aren't playing like they should.

I guess it depends on why he was upset! If it was because Gatewood dropped the pass and he wanted to fire him up that's one thing...but if it was because Travis wasn'ty getting him the ball....well we don't want that to become an issue.

I think everything will work itself out. Murray/Gatewood/Lulay are very competitive players and it is good to see them actually let out some frustration when things aren't going right. I think this team does need a kick in the pants sometimes to get some of these guys fired up.

I'm sure everything will be worked out between those players themselves. Everything isn't going to go your way every game so you need to work as a team and have everyone give their best effort. Some players just have bad games sometimes, it's the way things go. We have a lot of weapons though that we can go to on those days though.

We are 3-1 in conference with 2 of the next 3 at home. They need to focus on what they need to do this week to give Sac. State a little payback from last year. I think we'll be very focussed this week and not quite as rusty from the BYE week. Let's get the crowd into HEAVY this week and help this team CRUSH Sac. State.

I was very impressed with the NAU crowd last week. It was pretty much full by middle of first quarter on both sides. It dipped when that deep freeze came in, but for a later fall game the attendance was VERY GOOD I thought. Lets keep it up. Only 2 more regular season home games to watch a very good group of Sr's play this year. Lets give em our support! Go to game on Saturday and hunting on Sunday :)

Agreed Cardiac. I only noticed that Travis did not seem to Check Him during a play. I remember those conversations in the huddle when someone was open often and my guess is that there had to be something happening between them.

I think it is healthy to talk up what needs to be done-- and Hellcat I don't think we have a T.O. issue here.

I'm going to have to agree with the last 2 guys. This team needs some fire under them. If they come out fired up on Saturday, Sac St. is in for a long day.

Kramer said that Murray was injured for the game, and was not 100%. Still doesn't excuse the fighting on the sidelines, but that could be a good thing.

The way I see it, as long as the Cats are winning, who cares about stats. Guinn was catching the ball well, so we went to him, and Gatewood is still the go-to guy in this O, and rightfully so. He earned the job with his play last year. I am NOT bashing Murray, as he has been great all year. He had an off game. So what. He will get his catches next game.

BTW HB, that pass that Gatewood dropped was right on his hands, he just bobbled it. Frustrating, yes. But, sh!t happens. You forget about it and move on. This needs to be the mindset of every player. Lulay sure has this mindset, and the rest of the team should follow suit.
