Will Kyle Begger be a Cat?
I heard from a good source that Begger, from Miles City, is deciding between Boise State, Hawaii, and MSU. I guess he was really impressed with the Bobcat coaching.
This would be a huge signing in my humble opinion. He is fast, a hurdler I believe, big about 6'3" and around 215 lbs. I have been told that he is very similar to Joe Baker--only with the potential to put on more weight. He is an all-around great athlete.

Tough schools to compete against. Boise is still relatively close and is usually a top 20 team. And who could resist Hawaii where wearing a bikini is condsidered to be overdressed.whizonthegriz wrote:I heard from a good source that Begger, from Miles City, is deciding between Boise State, Hawaii, and MSU. Saw him play against Belgrade. He's big and strong and athletic-probably a linebacker candidate at the college level-maybe tightend.
Another player I hope Kramer at least considers is Zach Halgren from Belgrade. He's a lot like the Miles City kid-big, fast, strong-probably a linebacker or defensive end, maybe tightend candidate. Would also be a good special teams player.
You can't go wrong with a Belgrade kid on the roster-Beau Clark proved that!

I too watched him play at Belgrade earlier in the year. I took note of his size, but was not overly impressed by him, its not like he was flying all over the field and making plays. He does have good size though and am curious to know if he has progressed throughout his senior year? I know that he has Joe Baker on the coaching staff, so there may be some benefit to the young lad in that regard.

I believe that Miles City has him playing at defensive end, instead of linebacker. I'm sure it is a case of being at a smaller high school actually hurts him by not being able to play at a more natural position. I saw him play against Billing Central, and he stood out as the best player on the field.

Last week you started a thread asking how the Griz do it. Here is a perfect example of how we do it.
We don't go after kids who would WEAR BIKINIs!!!!!!!!

Dont knock it till you've tried it. I've caught some nice trout out of the berkley pit. Sure they had multiple heads and glowing tails, but they were still nice trout.raincat wrote:B. I don't see how anyone can play on the bronco-blue-artifical turf!! It would be like fishing on the lake in the Berkley Pit in Butte.

Not sure if you would look that good even being overdressed in a bikini.gtapp wrote: Tough schools to compete against. Boise is still relatively close and is usually a top 20 team. And who could resist Hawaii where wearing a bikini is condsidered to be overdressed.

It sounds like this year may be one of the better recruiting years in Montana, at least as far as "Blue Chip" players go. Usually the Cats and griz are fighting for the top three or four players in the state and then dividing the next ten or so up as expected "depth" players. This yearit seems that there is more talent in the state. I don't live in Montana so can anyone confirm this.

gtapp, don't know where the recruiting battles are between the Cats and Grizzles but it is a good year to go after local talent.gtapp wrote:It sounds like this year may be one of the better recruiting years in Montana, at least as far as "Blue Chip" players go. THere is Savage from CMR, Sele from Cutbank, the Billings boys and Begger from MC. All are great talents and need to wear MSU colors next year.
