Icing the kicker?

The one thing I have to say about the PSU game, (I am too dissapointed to comment on anything else), why do we take a timeout to "ice" a kicker that is 1-5 on the year w/ a long of 22 yards. Make him go out there and kick the damn ball. He had already missed a 43 yarder, all we did there was give him time to collect his thoughts.

Icing the kicker never works in my opinion. I see it all the time, and all that is a redult is a made field goal. i.e. out kicker, the Dallas Cowboys kicker and so on.

Did you hear Hastings comments after the WSU game? He said he was glad they iced him, it calmed him down.

Given the percentages of PSU's FG kicker, we should have drilled him and got a roughing the kicker call. You never know, we may have been able to get a piece of the ball and made him miss. Move him 15 yards closer and let him try again, only this time he is a tad sore about being hit the first time.
Hindsight is 20/20 though huh?
