Listened the interview-they're very young with no seniors.
She said all the right things about getting better and preparing for conference etc. I think the hard cold fact of the matter is this team is going to struggle mightily this season. She was hired pretty late, thus got a late start recruiting, and has no senior leadership.
They open with exhibition games against Carroll and MSU-Billings. If the outcome of those games is less than favorable I think we all should be pretty forgiving.
She's going to need some time to turn it around.

agree completely.
I think she is/will be a great hire. But, like kramer, she has the guts to take over for a program that has been struggling. The tank is empty in many different ways.
She will be good for recruiting and for donations. But, it will take a little time to see it on the court.
Here's to the Cats!

I have a feeling she'll get this team competitive sooner rather than later. She is a good coach/recruiter and I think she will really instill leadership on this team even w/o a lot of Seniors on it. If the players buy into her system, plays tough defense, and has good team chemistry they can beat any team in the Big Sky on a given night. Now it's just a matter of how fast they can remain consistent at doing that early on.

Coach Binford has a ton of energy and will light a fire in the Lady Cats basketball program. I think she will have a hard working team this year but lack of quality in the post and at forwards will cause them to struggle. Look out in the near future though... I think she will be a heck of a coach.

If she can put together an 'okay' season, keep the players motivated and happy and keep the program out of the newspapers for all of the wrong reasons (inappropriate relationships, 4 hour practices...) she gets my vote.
I don't think we should set the bar high at all...seldom has a DI program been so screwed up by so many bad decsions for so long. Let's give her some time to build a reputation for a hard charging, academically strong, competitve program - that's going to take at least a few years...
Good luck Lady CATS!

Yeah, I think we're going to need some rebuilding, but we have a decent core of players at most positions. The one that really is a concern is the center/post position. But this team did drop a few heartbreakers last year and could have been much closer to .500 if the ball bounced a different way. (Example-game at UM where they lost in OT. The Griz got lucky there.) I think that this team will surprise some people in and out of the conference. They should finish close to .500 and make the conference tournament.
