Hinkelman, take II

Very good article. Well-written, and the little bits of humor were actually funny this time. I hope this is a better indication of what we can expect from Andrew in the future.
BTW, nice article on the men's basketball team, Jeff!

I should also make it clear that I don't think this is a "great" article simply because it was complimentary towards the Cats (while also getting in a subtle little dig at Hauck for closing practice last week), and last week's article was "bad" simply because it was not very complimentary towards the Cats. If you read any of my posts, you will know that I see plenty of faults with the Bobcats and I'm not afraid to air my opinion. I don't think you are ever doing yourself a favor if you fail to look for areas in which to improve. If you can't identify any areas that are lacking (i.e., some egriz "sugarcoaters"), then how are you ever going to address those faults? If a reporter wants to do that, I have no problem with that (i.e., Welsch's article about Bobcat basketball games last season). My only point of contention with Hinkelman's first article was the unabashed pot shots he took at Bobcat fans, and namely those of us who post on this board.
In summary, not every article has to be (or should be, for that matter) a gushing review of how great all Bobcat fans, teams, players, and coaches are. I think it is actually nice to get some outside perspective on how things appear to a non-biased outsider, because that probably gives us the best input on how we can improve things in Bobcatland.
I don't like the cheapshots at Bobcat fans, though. And until Bobby Hauck cures cancer, refers to us as "Montana" State and/or the "Bobcats", actually calls our players by their formal names, doesn't pout like an immature child when his teams lose, and solves the problems in the Middle East, please don't write about why he is such a great guy and why I should like him!!!

And for those that did read Hinks latest article, this picture from Jensen that I put up in the Weber Pictures thread is a shot of the play he is describing.

Bab(b)y Hack would definitely need to do ALL of the above! BozoneCat's last paragraph couldn't have been better put and certainly summarizes why Bobcat fans (or any fans outside of mushoola) don't like OR respect him!BozoneCat wrote:I should also make it clear that I don't think this is a "great" article simply because it was complimentary towards the Cats (while also getting in a subtle little dig at Hauck for closing practice last week), and last week's article was "bad" simply because it was not very complimentary towards the Cats. Hink is dead wrong, there is no irrational dislike for Hauck.SenorWeezer wrote:Bab(b)y Hack would definitely need to do ALL of the above! The GRIZ, a quarter century of total football dominance over the cats.

Well, this article is an improvement over the first. It has some good information and has less references to the Grizzlies. I hope that Hink keeps up the improvement. He still has a long way to go with Bobcat fans. Anyway, no one has said anything about Tim Dumas at the Chronicle. He's really a good reporter. What do you think?
GO CATS!
It's always a good day to be a Bobcat fan!

My name is Steve, if you'd like to know.
