No. 11 Montana State (3-2) at Weber State (2-3), 3:05

Facing Weber State has to feel like a breather for the Bobcats. Montana State has already played three ranked opponents this season (with a 2-1 record), and visited Oklahoma State. Throw in a home game against a Stephen F. Austin team that sits just outside the top 25, and you can see why the Bobcats are at No. 11 even with the two losses. But Montana State can’t afford to relax, or a surprisingly strong Weber State team could bite them. The Wildcats knocked off Northern Arizona to start the Big Sky schedule, and played Montana very tough in a 24-19 loss on Saturday. The Wildcats actually outgained the Grizzlies by more than 100 yards in that game, and quarterback Ian Pizarro threw for 373 yards. Weber State will probably hang in with Montana State, if only because seemingly every Bobcat game comes down to the wire. Pizarro will need to have another big day to keep up with the Montana State offense, which has the passing attack to score on the Wildcats. Weber State plays another tough game, but Montana State knows how to win and will come through down the stretch. Prediction: Montana State 30, Weber State 27

I just don't see Weber matching up that well with the Cats. My prediction is: Cats 34, Weber 20

This one scares me because I feel that we have gotten the breaks against Weber and they are due to upset us. I am always cautious with any opponent, so I still like our Cats in a 34-20 win that may be closer than the score. I see Weber having success running the ball on us at times. I think Lulay and Co. will be a little too much for them. This is not a "breather" by any stretch of the imagination. They just took the Griz to a real "nail-biter" in Washington Grizzly stadium. They have us at home. If we do think it is going to be easy, uh oh, upset happens for sure. Keep our focus!!!

Exactly, this is not a BREATHER game at all and the players better not take it as a BREATHER game or they could be in for a rude awakening (See Sac State sick feeling in your gut last year). I dont' think any in the Big Sky ever is or you can be bitten in the A$$ by them. Weber went into a very hostile Washington Grizzly Stadium and executed their game plan very well (i.e. sounds like they are becoming very well coached). We need to show up early and pop them in the mouth (like we did ISU) and get an early lead. We have had 2 games this year where if we go down and score on a TD drive we put the team away. We have lost that possession however on turnovers going down the field. We score those 2 TD's in those 2 games and those games turn out to be blowouts in my opinion as we would have made the other team have to start throwing the ball (running teams).

I think we made up for all those "breaks" with the Sac State game last year. As I see it that game has us caught up for breaks through 2010.

I don't care how Weber did against the Griz. The Griz are not good (how come people won’t accept this?). They are a middle of the pack team this year, so a close game with the Griz doesn’t interpret the team as being good.

The Cats will take this one 35-14 in front of 9k fans.

I think it is more of the Weber team that came in and played us last year that has me nervous for this game (yeah, we were beat up). They could of had us up by 3 scores if they had held onto the rock on those wide open pass plays. But you are right Mike, this is a new year and you can't really gauge a teams play one week to the next (see Cal Poly game). I hope we keep playing physical on defense and make teams earn EVERY yard they try and gain on us while our offense is screaming down the field when we have the ball.

Did you watch our game last weekend? Weber has a huge line with two big running backs. Their QB has a great arm if they abandon the run. Weber's O might give you more troubles than you think. I think the Cats will win this weekend but it will be no push over. As far as the Griz not being good this year and when will people accept that, we aren't good at the passing game this year, but the Cats proved this weekend you don't have to have a potent passing attack to compete in the Big Sky. ISU only threw for 141 and kept it within in two last weekend. And we have the same D as last year. We have only given up 1 TD on the ground this year.

Is that the same D that finished 117th vs the pass last year? And the same D that gave up 483 yards to WEBER last week?

I have predicted double-digit wins for the Cats each of the last 2 weeks, and although they DID win both games, they were far too close for my liking.

So, I'm mixing things up this week, in the hopes of changing the trend:

It's my own fault. I know better than to try and have an actual football conversation with cat fans this early in the year. The Cats haven't been eliminated from the playoffs yet and are still talking smack. You're right, your previous track record of beating up on bottom dwelling teams like Sac. St. should set you at ease this weekend playing at Weber. Good luck to you.

DaGriz, you have to lay out intelligence to receive it back. Weber stinks. If you think they're good just because of what happened in Missoula last Saturday, you're easily impressed. Montana is really THAT BAD! Yeah, that's what i'm talkin' about!

The Cats will clobber them. The NDSU showing by Weber was indicative of how pathetic they are.

Let's break this down; you BRAG about your defense with little support considering you've played a High School team (#'s don't count), a solid I-A team (#'s don't count) and 2 mediocre I-AA teams AT WaGriz, one of whom was a dropped pass away from a win and 500+ yards against your "great" D.

So, then I state 2 facts, you call that smack, and then attempt to dish some smack of your own.

Tell me, in my 2 comments that you quoted, where is the smack? Are they or are they not FACTS?

If you can't handle the truth, stick to egriz.

You talk about the Cats... How about the Griz? You guys look terrible so far this season and all I keep hearing about is your Chattanooga trip this December and how the Cats aren't going to even be in the top half of the conference. Your radio announcers were talking about playing in the National Championship game again this year during the Fort Lewis game! Give us a break with your high and almighty talk! Lets see, someone is going to make the same mistake NAU made last year, maybe it will be weber. Of course everyone in I AA knows about Lulay by now but NAU should have known about him last year. I think Krames has been harping about being 0- forever on the road and the cats come out on fire. 21 points in the first quarter and then the wheels fall off for weber, gets ugly after that and by 3PM watching the griz lose becomes more fun than the Cat game. Final MSU 48 WSU 6.

Let's break that down: A safety, a blocked extra point by Saenz returned for a point, a Thomas interception return for a touchdown, PAT good, a 1 yard Hilliard TD run (on 4th down after the Griz recover a fumble at ISU's 2), PAT fails, and an ISU 2-point conversion picked by Harris and returned for 2.

Yeah, that looks about right!
