Great win for Bobcat Volleyball

Post by El_Gato » Mon Oct 03, 2005 9:56 am

Super effort by the Cats in their easy win over the Griz Friday night in a PACKED Shroyer gym.

Zanto, Malyurek, and Stonehouse were on fire all night, with Anderson and Purnell also having solid efforts. Kandice is Kandice, the best Libero in the Big Sky.

Sesler is really starting to SETtle in and the hitters are definitely starting to improve their chemistry with her.

The Griz? Well, it's obvious their non-conference success was against inferior competition because they're really not good.

Big weekend coming up vs EWU and PSU; can't make it down this time so I hope those of you who can make it will show up and cheer on the team. kmax, you'll have to yell for me!

PS Angela, get well soon.

For anyone who came down early for the football game, if you missed the volleyball match you missed a good time -- if you could have gotten a ticket. Great to see both events scheduled for Homecoming, and capacity crowds for both.

Very enthusiastic crowd in Shroyer, and it was great to see the volleyball team finally find some offensive groove.

This is definitely a high-energy, well-played sport -- and if anyone is thinking picnic volleyball, well this ain't it!

Go 'Cats!

I am amazed at how powerful she is considering how slight she's built.

Everytime they set her up, I just feel like yelling BOOM when she hits it. Good thing she's just a junior; we're going to miss Zanto & Malyurek...

Agreed, Stonehouse is a powerhouse at the net! I commented during the match that I think the libero from UM was scared of her.

I'm by no means a volleyball expert but it was almost unfair how much better Kelly was than their Libero. But I think if I saw Stonehouse getting ready to hit one at me, I run ito the stands and hide.

I'm not saying I would be any different, but I thought it a little odd to see that of someone who plays that position.
