Intensity this year

Post by KGKat » Sun Oct 02, 2005 10:08 am

Is it just me or does the team seem to be playing with great intensity? I have been at the last two games and have been VERY impressed =D^

The penalties are irritating, but I feel that a lot of them have been caused by players playing too fired up - they are playing harder after the whistle is the problem. I would rather see that than to see a lack of energy, though.

There were a couple of monster hits yesterday by the Cats - I couldn't believe that the ISU receiver held onto the ball on the first hit

The lick that Grenfell laid at the end of the game should have made ESPN - one of the biggest hits of the year

If the players can control the emotions after the whistle and keep the intensity the D can be great.

I think a lot of that stems from the intensity in the stadium. No longer do fans cheer only when we have reason to. We are being noisy pretty much all game, though we could be noisier, it is a BIG step up in atmosphere.

You can tell because we have been penalized a lot less on the road this year than we have at home. But that may be because of the BSC refs, we'll see next week at Weber. :)

I agree the players need to calm down and play smart football a bit more. Get that under control and the defense will be that much better.

Speaking of hits, did you see LeBlanc lay out ISU's qb? Honestly, I don't even remember when it was but I think it happened in the third quarter. I sit right behind their bench and he came off after that series with a bloody mouth and I thought I heard them saying that a tooth had been knocked loose.

I'm all for playing with a high level of intensity during the game. But, it's the after the play penalties I'd like to see go away.

chest,

If that's the play where Hagler JUST got the ball away and did complete it for a first down, I agree; that was a MONSTER hit! He was VERY shaky when he first got up but you gotta hand it to him, he trotted back to the huddle and shook it off!

I didn't see who made the hit; if it was LeBlanc, we need to send him MORE OFTEN!

LeBlanc really lays the lumber. I like that guy back there.

Did anyone see teh last offensive play for the bengals, I think it was Grenfell who hit the reciever and made him drop the ball, but it was a hell of a hit.

The pass was just long (was just out of reach of the reciever), but the hit was legal, and yes it was a hell of a hit :D !

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

I couldn't believe the QB got up after that hit. It was big, but you have to give Hagler credit for staying in there. There were quite a few good hits on defense, and I remember a couple of REALLY good blocks on special teams. The Cats are playing some very physical football right now, and that should intimidate all of their opponents.
