Obviously Justin reads this board! I'm happy for him. He's a fighter, and it is good to know he will never quit.

That is a great attitude!! I am glad to see JD can use critcs as a motivator and not quit!

I wasn't worried when Bass went down, afterall JD started all of last year. I'm glad he has that kind of attitude, we can be a little critical of players on here, and it shows what kind of person he is if he can take it as fuel to perform that much better.

I agree, I always thought JD was a tough SOB. I liked what I saw from him yesterday, and am glad he had a productive day. Dom didn't come here to ride the bench, and at the very least I know we can expect 100% from him on every play.

He woulda had a rec touchdown yesterday, too if that dang ball wouldn't have been slapped down on that pass in the flat. I kinda like it when JD lines up at the fullback.

Yea I remember that, that was an easy TD if not batted down.

Here's my take on JD's performance yesterday. The biggest change I saw was that his feet kept moving after taking the initial hit. In my opinion, JD is a great back once he gets past the line of scrimmage. He showed some great skills on some longer runs that came both off of run plays and pass plays.

JD had a real nice game, and I am real happy for him. He showed some moves we haven't seen for a while. Showed some good power too, was more decisive. He has a lot of people pulling for him (even when he doesn't have a good game). I liked the 2 back set - seemed to work well.

Don't fall in love with the two back set, and Dom is a solid back, he probably is the most offensively aware back/player on the team, he just doesn't quite have the quickness or speed to be a really breakaway runner. If you watch him you'll see he reads the field like no one else, and a lot of times the reason positive yardage is gained is because he reads the field so well, too bad he doesn't have the quickness and speed of Bass

And, he had a couple huge blocks to keep the D off Travis. One in particular was a sweet move that stopped a potentially damaging sack. I like his savvy and his perseverence. Way to go JD!!!

I commented numerous times last night and on the drive home today that JD really came through when his team needed him to and that's a great sign for the Cats, whether Bass makes it back or not!

91 yards on the ground (with a TD) and 6 catches for another 47 yards; OUTSTANDING GAME JD; welcome back!

The difference to me was FAR LESS "dancing" behind the line of scrimmage; he hit the holes, held the ball, and moved the chains. My offensive game ball goes to JD.

I noticed that too - he hit the hole hard and followed his blockers. Great game JD. GO CATS!

Great game JD! Keep it up! We know you are a very tough/bruising back and we know what you can do if given a chance (you proved that last year). I agree that some of your average this year was down early because the OL was not creating holes for you as well. I saw some very nice running lanes yesterday and you hit the holes very hard and were very shifty and powerful once you broke through. Every Bobcat knows you are our best blocking back and our best receiving back AND our best in between the tackles runner! Just be that down hill runner that we need on first down and get us the 4 yards .... then on 2nd and 3rd your name will be called more often as well in 2nd and 3rd and short situations (check off RB out of the backfield for the pass).

Anyway, GREAT game!

My kudos as well to JD. I thought he really stepped up in the ISU game. Bass or not I am confident that JD will do the job AGAIN this Saturday. Way to go JD, the nay sayers have been silenced. I hope you have an even better game against Weber.
