An Observation

I think as a team we may have a problem maintaining our focus during the game. It's not something that is even exclusive to this year.
How many times have we commented in the past about how we are always pressing the game clock on offense? How many times have I seen our defense still trying to set up, some guys even trying to buckle their helmets when the opposing O is about to snap the ball?
I think it falls on the shoulders of the Coaches, primarily, to deal with this problem. A minor, and not uncommon, penalty on a PAT caused our offensive playcallers to freak out and suddenly try to run a 2pt conversion... and our guys get out there looking like they don't know what the hell is going on. Lulay's gets frustrated by having to line everyone up by himself, and in the end the clock nears 0 and we burn a T.O.... on a PAT!!!
I noticed Chaz Guinn trying to line up at tailback in one instance and King (God bless the future All-American) is trying to pump the crowd up while ISU is snapping the ball.
Call me an unrealistic jerk, but at this point I feel like we should be handily beating teams; yet we're such mindjobs out there that other teams either hang around with us when they should be getting pounded, or we just melt down all-together and get our butts whipped. Rarely do I see us get beat by teams with more talent.
I don't know, I talked with El Gato about this after the game... maybe he can expound a bit. I just feel like we should be waaaaaay past that kind of isht by now.
