Game tape

Ijust watched the game tape and thought I would point out two things.
1. The block in the back penalty on Dominicks last kickoff return where he took it to the 40 was complete bs bullcrap. Seriously though it was a terrible call. The blocker hit the guy in the shoulder and not the back at all. I believe that a NDSU player threw the same kind of block on the previous kickoff that was not called.
2. Dominick fumbled on that kickoff and juggled the ball on the touchdown. If we wouldn't have fallen on the ball it would have been game over. Same as if he would have dropped the ball on the touchdown. That scares me not only for last week but for the up coming games. I hate hate hate fumbles and if he is that careless with the ball with the game on the line do we really want him holding the ball at all? It probably doesn't matter what i want cause he is going to play anyway.
All I can say is COVER UP THAT BALL this weekend.

I have to respectfully disagree on this one. I am usually pretty critical of the refs and bogus calls, but that one was almost straight out from me and I watched it happen all the way. Had the ref not called that one it would have been the worst no-call I have ever seen. It was a really stupid play by our player as it was a good 8-10 yards away from the ball and the player he hit from behind really didnt have a play on the ball as it was moving to the other side of the field. For a second there I thought we had Jimmy Beal back on Special Teams it was such a bonehead move. Everyone around me that saw it agreed that it was a good call and a stupid play.

I thought the ref made the right call, too. Domineck didn't bobble the ball on the touchdown until after he crossed to goal line, but fumbles are bad.

Once JD broke the plain of the goal, it's a TD and the play is over. As you can see below, he is heading down into the endzone with the ball. The ball was loose after he broke the plain.

First of all that is gatewood in the picture and yes he did score. Dominick bobbled the handoff when he scored. It was plain as day. And secondly the tape doesn't lie you may have had a different angle but the tape shows a push on the side not a push in the back. I can rewind it a hundred times, pause it ,slow mo it, but it is still not a push in the back.

That's all fine on the tape, at game speed and from almost the same angle as the ref that threw the flag, there was no doubt in my mind in should have called. Regardless whether it was more in the side, it was a dumb move by the player as I said, the guy he shoved wasn't going to make a play on the ball anyway. Just like today, guys gotta use their heads before doing that kind of stuff.

Agreed. Big penalties are killing us and Kramer needs to address it in practice this week.
