I guess I'll start.

Lulay and receivers have a big day, and Groves plays his way into our #1 back.

Cats 31
Bungals 16

The D comes out firing and makes some big plays. JD and Gathing both get touchdowns and fire up an already excited homecoming crowd. I'm damn glad I'll be there....at least for three quarters of it

Gato's "Heart" pick: MSU 35 ISU 13

Gato's "Head" pick: MSU 27 ISU 17

("Heart" pick represents a day when everything goes right for the Blue & Gold; the Football God smiles down upon Bozeman, the Cats roll, "and there was much rejoicing....Yaaaaaaaay")

I think it will be a big win for the Cats, but this won't be a blow out.

I also think we are going to win convincingly. I just think we are too tough at home and too talented on both sides of the ball even with some injuries. ISU showed they can play with the best last week vs EWU, but that was the kind of game that teams have once maybe twice a year. ISU took advantage of numerous EWU mistakes and miscues, and I see the opposite befalling the Bengals in Bozeman.

I saw the ISU coaches show on Altitude (channel 38 on Bozeman-Belgrade cable). You can't tell much from a few highlights, but they look fast and athletic to me. But they were playing on the concrete turf of Holt Arena too-a totally different type of game in there. They have some big receivers and it looked like early on they used them the same way we use Gatewood and Murray-quick slants where they get the smaller DB between them and the ball. Their receivers are scarey, but I think they're a little inexperienced at quarterback. They have 2 good running backs, a freshman and sophomore, that will carry the mail for them. If we can't stop the run it will be a long day, just like last time they were here.

Their coach, Larry Lewis's eyes sparkled a bit when they recalled their last trip to Bozeman when they were also coming off an EWU win. If I recall they got way ahead and MSU came back to make it somewhat interesting at the end.

This ISU team is really feeling good about themselves right now-just like NDSU was. MSU needs to get off to a good start or it could be a long day.

On another note: Altitude will be showing the Kramer show on Friday at 4:00 p.m.. And they show just about everyother coaches show in the intermountain west. If you like coaches shows this is the network for you. Personally, I find coaches shows just about the worst form of television there is-except for everything else that's on.

MSU was feeling good about themselves after SFA too......look what happened. I have a feeling that ISU will have the same type of let down this week. MSU rolls. 41-7 :D

We figured out that we can run the 2 minute drill with 8 minutes left in the NDSU game. I predict our staff actually retains that knowledge for this week's game.
ISU is fired up after chasing Meyer around last week -- but gets deflated when they can't get to Lulay consistently (and he gets out of trouble with his feet when they do actually put pressure on him). Cats 45, Ben-gals 17.

Cats 34
ISU 23

The 4 horsemen of MSU's receiving corps will have a hey day. Gatewood will pull down a few TD's, Guinn will step it up with some nice catches, Murray will nearly run one back and will catch a TD, and Miller will get back into play with some catches of his own.

Domineck shows he can pass block but still not run the ball, Gathing will have a few good runs, and Groves will show some talent that will hopefully reveal him as our starting TB NEXT years.

Lulay just wouldn't be Lulay without a scamper into the endzone as he once again will probably be our #1 rusher.

Hastings with a FG just because......

I'm not going to be as detailed as some of the others. We beat them and we beat them soundly.

Come on everybody. Nobody gives us more than 23 points? You have go to be kidding me. This game is going to be around 30-40 for either team. But ISU will most likely spoil another Homecoming for the Cats. I am still not going to predict a score though.

You MIGHT score more than that, snake, but my rationale for your low score is this:

You needed FOUR EWU turnovers to score 34 points in your dome sweet dome last week. Plus, of your 6 scoring drives, FIVE of them started inside Eastern's 40 yard line! Here is the starting point of all six of your scoring drives: ISU 39, EWU 20, EWU 36, EWU 21, EWU 38, EWU 17.

How could you NOT win getting the ball in spots like that? As a matter of fact, how was this game even CLOSE?

My train of thought here is that A) our defense is VASTLY superior to EWU's, B) we will not turn the ball over 4 times at home, and C) we will not hand you the ball 5 times on our side of the field as EWU did.

Face it, without the field position EWU continually handed you, you would NOT have beaten them. I'm sure I would feel a little differently if I saw 3 or 4 sixty-plus yard drives on the scoreboard instead of all those short fields. Add to this the fact that Eastern's D is probably only better than Sac's in the Sky, and you'll understand why I'm a bit skeptical.

Anyway, hope that at least somewhat supports my pick; best of luck Saturday!

The only team that scored more than 17 on us was Cal Poly, because of the option.

Oklahoma State - 15
Stephen F Austin - 6
North Dakota State - 17

We have allowed 23 points total in our two home games, against two high scoring teams.
SFA average in other games - 51
NDSU average in other games - 45

20 - 17 Cats.

But this time we lead the whole way and our D stops a late drive by ISU to seal it. 8)

Because of the injuries on defense, Kramer slows this game way down. Cats win 28-14

GO CATS!!

The post seems very optomistic about scoring.
Defense scores, Lulay scrambles, ISU is turnover laden.

Give me a break. ISU 35 MSU 28, and that's only because of a junk TD at the end for MSU.
