Sports Bars - Part II

I think we discovered the fatal flaw in my first attempt -- there are simply not many bars in Montana that tend to cater primarily only to Cats or Griz, and that makes sense, especially considering how small many towns are -- you don't have the luxury of limiting your patrons.
However, what I would next like to do is to identify one good sports bar in as many towns as possible in Montana (and in other states as well) as the Bobcatnation.com official bar of that town. We would get in touch with the owners of the bars to make sure they would be open to hosting Bobcat fans for games and any other kind of promotion, and we would post their names in a section of our site. That could be the unofficial Bobcat bar for that town, and we would throw business their way to the extent possible (and would likely only ask that they hang a poster of ours at their bar).
I need your help, though. Can you give me nominations for bars that you'd like to see on the list? I will send letters/emails to each place to find out if they want to participate, and I am hoping this will lead to a nice long list of bars across the state that we will have an affiliation with for Bobcat events.
So please, give me your favorite bars! (The Brick is already a lock for Great Falls, so we have one geography down!).

What would be the bar for Bozeman??? I think either Specs or Burger Bobs. Seeing how his kid is on the team.

I don't think there has to be just one in Bozeman. The Rockin R is another big supporter.

Yes the R is a good bar but they aren't a sports bar. And Saturday night games would be hell in that place.

Which do you think is the best one in Helena?

used to be club 77, but Bannon, a huge Bobcat fan, sold it. Now, I would go with Bert and Ernies/Bleachers.

Reading back through this thread, I thought about the place in Whitefish called the Fizzlie Den (never been in it obviously) and naturally thought it'd be a good idea to get the old bar in Cleveland and help Mr. House open the very first Bobcat Bar. I guess that old bar is only one of three left in Montana to have come up to Ft. Benton.

I've only been in Moose McGoo's once, but it is now managed by Kyle Klock, who used to work at the R Bar for a long time. Kyle is a big time Bobcat fan, and I have no doubt that he would love to turn that place into Helena's Bobcat home.

Wow...I was just going to put that. Dave and Danni are great people and great Bobcats. If you are ever heading through the Swan, make sure to stop in at the "biggest little bar on Hwy 83" to play some shuffle board (or horse shoes), and drink some beer. They are one of the only bars that I've seen that carries Keystone Light in a can.
If you're going to eat, I highly recommend the halibut chunks.

Thanks Catatac. I was planning on trying for a Bull out of Swan Lake this weekend anyway, so this should be a good place to check out the food after a tough day on the lake

My wife and I were wondering where he was now. She knows him from Harlow, I think his Dad runs a bar there that is pretty pro-Bobcat as well doesn't he? Good to know he found a place to run up there.

Hopefully you get a big one... and throw it back. Bull-trout population is declining in that drainage.

They don't taste very good anyway - have a fried chicken dinner at the Bar.
Good Luck!

Had been tearing them apart in the--Middle Fork! My six-year-old cried like a little baby when I made him release one two weeks ago that was 26 and a half inches long. They're pretty strong fish but I don't think they're as fast as a brown or rainbow. Yeah, we'll eat in Swan Lake. Do they have a big screen T.V. there to watch the Cats get another monkey off their backs? My kids like to play the video game

Must get that from their mother's side

Aptly named "Montana's Bar" in Atlanta, GA
They had the playoff game on vs. Northern Iowa a couple of years ago, and usually have the Cat/Griz game as well.

The Oasis in Manhattan - good drinks & great food
The Montana in Miles City – there is always someone there to drink with on Sunday mornings

I'd agree with Bert & Ernies. Toby has tons of Saints and Griz stuff out. I always feel at home there.
