He had a pretty darn game last Sunday in limited action and seems to have figured out how to tackle.
All the best to him and the Pack.

Wanting to Tackle is an atitude thing. Not necessarily a skill thing for athelites. If you want to knock someone down, you will.
In College, I don't think Joey really wanted for what ever reason and he was so valuable that it wasn't a thing the coaches HAD TO HAVE. His speed on the field was huge.
In the Pros, either you want to tackle or you are with another team. There are lots of talented guys. Joey has 250,000 reasons (probably more) for wanting to tackle now.

More reasons than that!

League minimum is something like 520k a year.

See how many more reasons he has to tackle now than at MSU??

520K doesn't sound correct. Maybe NFL average is 520 but not Min. for a 2nd year player. The Min. does go up with Senority and that's why they'll keep a younger guy who makes mistakes over a vetern guy many times. I'm thinking 100K to 200 K as Min.

Also, being drafted in the 3rd round puts you above league minimum automatically. I am not sure the specifics, but I know if you are drafted you have to get a certain amount. Correct?

I just found this....I guess he has 950,000 reasons to tackle.

Crap that won't even keep you in a good set of wheels on the Hummer.
I guess Walker will have to buy when they go out for dinner.

250,000 is league minimum for a rookie and it goes up from there, but these are stats I found in 2002. I'm sure it has gone up by now, and even may vary from team to team depending on how rich they are.

How does the Bonus count in that? Do we have a NFL Cap lawyer logged on?

Hell, I'd even tackle for that many reasons.

It didnt even sound like Carroll was that dissapointed he lost the job. I guess that will only help Joey remain the starter for a long time to come.

Deon Sanders never tackled even to save a TD and he had a long (still going) and wealthy career.

That's true, but Joey doesn't have the Speed Deon had. Deon was to the NFL what Joey was to Div I-AA. Joey didn't have to tackle in College, Deon didn't have to tackle in the Pros. Now being nickle back only, Deon is a long way from a CB coming up on the sweep (now with some of his speed gone).
Joey is not the the star CB (if GB has one it's Harris and then that's questionable).
But he is our star and I'm rooting for him big time. It would be great if Brent and Coop would also be on teams. Still holding hopeing.

At least he's doing something sensible with all those reasons!
Putting on a football camp for kids in Bozeman after just one year in the pros is pretty cool.

On either one of the espns or NFL network, some commentators were reviewing games. One of the guys was questioning why the coach didn't put in Joey when their starting CB wasn't performing.
