Here are some defensive stats for you to ponder for a bit.

Total Defense - 33rd
Scoring Defense - T6th
Rushing Defense - 74th
Passing Efficieny Defense - 3rd

Let us hope we can keep up this up throughout the season, and even improve upon it now that we are done with the IA foes.

EDIT - looks like I looked at the wrong Montana team for rush defense. :)

When you play one of the toughest, if not the toughest schedules in Div IAA, you don't look for the top of the stats list.

You would expect rated teams like Cal Poly, NDSU, EW, PSU, and Montana (along with OSU and SFA) to put up some numbers. Also NAU and EW will effect the passing D stats just because of their passers.

If our defense is effective (compared with last year) it will be a major success. The stats game will be won by teams that play foes like Fort Lewis and SDSU (instead of SFA and NDSU) to run up Defensive stats easily.
