Mansch article from the Tribune

There are some great little nuggets in this article, including the possibility of a transfer O-lineman.

The Tribune continues to be the primary source for MSU sports news... that's a shame for subscribers to the Chronicle.

A couple injuries on offense and MSU looks fragile once again. This team needs to gel on offense this year or mediocrity will be back real fast. The defense appears solid once again. The No. 1 ranking in the BSC for three straight years and the presence of Kwiatkowski is a great combo for bringing in players, but if the offense doesn't connect real soon players will start to shy away from MSU.

Lulay may have had a sophomore slump last year, but he has to be more productive in '04. If he doesn't get some protection -- and that is dwindling -- it will tough for him to improve on '03. The backfield and receivers seem better, but without blockers it could be ugly.

Right now Echuari and Beniger (who hasn't set foot on campus yet) are battling for LT. Not good. Birkeland, who moved over from the D line, is the LG. Wolf is the center. Bolton is the best lineman at RG and Jenssen is the RT. Kramer is talking about Daws again. All together that isn't real pretty.

MSU needs this guy from the PAC-10, which isn't a good position to be in. But not only that, they need him to be good and they need Birkeland, Jenssen and Wolf to better than at least I think they will be.
