I was reading the Independent Record this morning (couldn't find a link for article so you'll have to trust me

) that Kramer still has three scholarships left to give. The article stated that we can expect a QB signing out of the NW within the next couple of weeks. It also stated that Carpenter is probably out for next year. The article also stated that of the three left, one will go for offense (the QB) and the other two for defense.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I would try and use one of those scholarships on an OT. That is if there is one out there worth giving a scholarship to.

That's what I would think, but obviously Kramer know something we don't regarding the O-line. After all, that has always been his #1 focal point since he arrived...
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

Interesting. Yesterday I became aware of a WSU Cougar QB who is leaving the program due to probable lack of playing time. He was highly recruited by the Cougs. I heard he had some injury problems, but they were not dibilitating. He'll be a redshirt junior, so the Cats may not be interested, but............

I can't see someone who is the same year as Lulay tranferring to THE MSU especially if he had problems with playing time. was the reason stated for signing a QB because Carpenter is not healthy?

I agree, but truth is if this guy transferred it might be Lulay finding trouble with playing time. I'm talking about a guy named Chris Hurd (6'2" 213), from CALIFORNIA. The Cougars feel Josh Swogger, a sophmore, is potentially among the best ever so he's their guy this year going in. Hurd, a junior, is second on the depth chart and was all set to move in last year in case the kid from Havre faultered. But Swogger developed faster than expected, so Hurd is supposedly looking for somewhere else to play.

I guarantee that Lulay won't have to fight for his starting position. He is already becoming a bobcat legend, and he's not even half way through his career. If we are looking for offensive help, it should either be on the O-line, or at receiver. If Hurd does come here, he'll have the best seat in the stadium to witness the magic of the "red-headed houdini"

I know who the Quarterback is!!! I be you that Kramer is looking at that Kid from
Greatfalls who ripped his coach earlier this year.... Where ...was he from? U of M
...Minnesota...Michigan or somewhere.
All Kidding NOT aside If I was Kramer I might sign Hartman to a full ride for 3-4 years
even if I knew he would not play a down just to thumb my nose at Baby Hauck (notice I
did not say Griz)

It's called the Grady Bennett rule. Dumb A$$ and MSU pushed for it.
Never mistake activity for accomplishment.

What is called the Grady Bennent rule! Are you refering to the rule that says that a player must sit out two years if he transfers within the conference! I believe the player can still be under scholarship, under that rule, they just can not play! Like I said, though, I might sign him even if I knew he would play, so what is your point.
I can tell you during next Cat Griz game I would have him on the side lines with a clip board in hand, like any other quarterback, and during every big defensive play I would walk to him point to the clip board and say " what did you think of lunch" or "Did you catch american Idol last night" then slowly look up at Hauck and smile. And after every successful defensive play I would walk up and give him a hi-five.
Now that could be fun!

Its a mute point The Red Headed Lulay is the Cats man and Kramer made that decision. He is a great QB and is kool under pressure. It would be very hard to find a another

quality QB like Lulay. Kramer would not burn a scholarship just to have Hartmen on the Bench.

Mslacat: You do have a great sense of humor. That really would send Baby Hack into orbit. he is already wound as tight as anyone I have ever seen. As paranoid as he is anyway, that would really push his buttons. It would be fun to watch!

Give Hartman a scholarship? That's not funny...that's just dumb. Thank gawd you're not HC.
Besides, Hartman agreed to not transfer to another I-AA school in exchange for getting his release.

I love how this thread turned to having a little fun with the Hartman situation in Grizville (yes, it has been resolved).
But, back to the main topic. As Catatac stated I am sure Kramer know's what he is doing concerning the extra scholarships. Maybe Brewton is ready to show us something and DeCock and Jensen are also ready. I would still like to see Beniger redshirt this year so that he can learn the system and possibly start next year. But if he is ready to contribute and can hold his own then what the heck!! I am just glad we have options. We should still have a strong O-Line.
As for the NW QB I doubt it would be Hurd from WSU. No way would Kramer destroy moral by bringing in a guy like him. I think Lulay is going to have a huge year. It may not be huge passing numbers but a quality high percentage of completions, 20+ TD's and low INT type of year.
The RB's I think are going to great! Lots of speed, size and power. But the O'line in my opinion will be key to it all. Especially at the tackles.
GO CATS!!

Here in Missoula, Kramer could not talk enough good things about his running backs, espesially Morris (I believe that is his names).
Question: We heard what players type Kramer was looking to sign, but do we know if these players are transfers or highschool, or if he even has player in mind when he says this or are these "targets".

the worse thing the cats can do is to bring in transfer div 1 qb's. this is a dangerous rut to get into. i think the griz are going to have a tough time getting QUALITY high school qb's because of their reputation as a sanctuary for div 1a qb drops. the three qb's the cats have are quality and shouldn't be messed with.
