Omega cancels schedule
By the Helena IR - 09/08/05
This week's slate of Omega Television games has been cancelled.
The Carroll College vs. Azusa Pacific football game which was scheduled to be televised on Omega Television on Saturday will not be shown as well as the Bozeman vs. Missoula Big Sky high school football game which was supposed to be broadcast on Friday.
Omega Television has shown over 200 sporting events over the past five years, however, according to Steve Dee, owner of Omega Television, there was not enough advertising revenue to sustain programming.
"Personally look at five years of immense and intense work to establish what we do securely among Montana television viewers with mixed feelings. We acheived a remarkable level of quality, with technical and telent skills competitive with national networks. The road, however, is extremely arduous."
Bruce Parker, Carroll College athletic director and long-time broadcaster for Omega Television was upset by the decision to pull the plug on this weekend's broadcasts.
"This has been great for the sports fan in the state of Montana and I am unhappy with the way it unraveled," he said.
