Anybody know of plans by MSU to try and collect, say a buck, from everyone who enters the stadium this weekend?
I saw a post from a Griz fan that they raised some money at their home game last weekend and definitely feel we should try to do the same.
Who would I contact about this? Fields? MSU athletics? Gamble's office?

I got my answer this morning in the Chronicle:
Gallatin Valley residents and business owners, moved by the stories coming out of the worst natural disaster in United States history, are harnessing their resources to benefit Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.
Their giving runs the gamut from cash donations to helping with long-term reconstruction plans for the Mississippi Delta and Gulf Coast region.
At Montana State University's first home football team Saturday, students, local National Guard members and Gallatin County emergency service workers will be collecting cash from spectators. All of the money will be given directly to the American Red Cross.
Immediately after the game, a free concert featuring the band illsauce will take place at Bogert Park. The festivities run from 4 to 8 p.m., and representatives of the Red Cross will be on hand to accept financial contributions.
Let's all make sure we help out!

If everyone gave $5.00 we could collect over $65,000.
If you're going to the game, bring at least a tenspot to make up for those who can't put in 500 pennies.
Let's show the families who have been devasted by this tragedy that Montana and the Gallatin Valley care ~ and are willing to put our money where our mouth is!!!

From MSU Sports Info:
BOZEMAN, Mont. -- While most Montana State University students
focus on beginning a new semester, Derrick Edmonds' mind has been a
thousand miles away lately. Literally.
The MSU junior's early days with the Bobcat men's basketball
team were shattered in August when Hurricane Katrina ravaged the New
Orleans area and the Gulf Coast region. A native of Baton Rouge, La.,
Edmonds spent his first days and weeks in Bozeman alternately worrying
about his family and trying to avoid dwelling on the problems in his
home area.
"I read the paper and watch TV," Edmonds said of his efforts to
track the latest news form Louisiana. "But I try to stay away from it,
too. It really gets me down."
Edmonds and the Bobcat men's basketball team will participate in
a fund-raising drive at Saturday's Montana State-Stephen F. Austin
football game. Montana State University, in conjunction with the
American Red Cross, will collect money in and around the Stadium. The
Red Cross uses all proceeds to aid those affected by the disaster.
Others involved include the Montana State Student-Athlete
Advisory Committee, ASMSU's Senate and Community Outreach office,
representatives of the Greek system, Montana's Army National Guard, and
Gallatin Valley Emergency Services units. Volunteers with official Red
Cross badges and buckets will accept donations. A Red Cross van will be
parked on Bobcat Boulevard in front of the Stadium beginning at 11:30
am.
The Red Cross is also promoting a free concert event to raise
awareness and funds following the game at Bozeman's Bogert Park. To
date, the Red Cross has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars and
served millions of meals to those affected by the hurricane.
Many of those at Saturday's game, nearly a sellout, have no
personal ties to the hurricane-ravaged area. That's not the case for
Edmonds. His family was unable to locate an uncle of Derrick's, Charles
Edmonds, for several days. The hurricane destroyed Charles Edmonds'
house in New Orleans, and he eventually relocated to rural Louisiana.
"The power was out for a long time (at Derrick Edmonds' parents' house
in Baton Rouge), there was rain and floods and high winds. The phones
were down. It was bad," he says.
Then he pauses, and pats his heart. "It hurts," he says, looking
down. "It really hurts."
