Here are the final results of the I-AA.org poll for games of the week and game of the year for the 2004 season. Cat/Griz won game of the year by a good margin. Click the link for full voting results.

http://www.i-aa.org/article.asp?articleid=40408

Week 1: McNeese State @ Southern
Week 2: Eastern Kentucky @ Appalachian State
Week 3: Wofford @ Georgia Southern
Week 4: Delaware @ UMass
Week 5: Northern Iowa @ Southern Illinois
Week 6: North Dakota State @ South Dakota State
Week 7: Appalachian State @ Georgia Southern
Week 8: Northwestern State @ Nicholls State
Week 9: Montana @ Portland State
Week 10: Georgia Southern @ Furman
Week 11: McNeese State @ S.F. Austin
Week 12: Montana State @ Montana
Game of the Year: Montana State @ Montana

Too bad there weren't any other games for MSU voted tops. I don't quite understand the week 9 vote however as I just don't see that game being a must see. Would have much rather seen either or of the runners-up, Maine-UMass or W. Illinois-S. Illinois or even better the MSU-NAU matchup.

Get your tickets early for THE GAME OF THE YEAR, it will be a barn burner. I predict Cats 21, Griz 14. I am counting the days. My reservations are made.

Yes, that's cool. It really is an intense rivalry. It's the oldest standing rivalry in the country I was told?

I think it is the oldest rivalry west of the Mississippi I had heard.

I think actually what I have heard is more along the lines of longest running in terms of number of games, not necessarily oldest. Any stats on that whitemeat?

Edit to note that I don't think it qualifies as THE longest running, but that is the category that it is very near the top of I believe.

Ok, now we're getting somewhere. Now, can someone tell me what the hell the Grizzly-Bobcat painting is? And yes BAC, I'll go for the oldest in the mountain time zone :D

That's what it was, I knew it was something like that. As for the painting...I have no clue :?: but unless there is some really cool story behind that has also qualify us for dumbest rivalry trophy.

I believe the painting is the Great Divide by Dave Samuelson. It was made into a sculpture and now is the trophy for the Bobcat-Griz game. Boy that trophy is ugly! It looks like a pile of you know what! But it's beautiful if you have it in your possession!

Agreed - not the most beautiful print or sculpture. Someone should revise it to depict an airborne Cat and Griz launching at each other over the Great Divide.
