MSU lost to Sac in the semis. Sac went on to beat EWU in the championship.

Sorry, I brought it up. Thought I'd give you guys something to cheer up about. Look at the bright side at least the Griz didn't even make the tourny.

These matches must have been too late to make the paper.
CSUS has some kind of magical stranglehold on this tournament. Year in and year out EWU has the best season and CSUS wins the title at Cheney.

Actually, we had the stranglehold on the regular season title from 199-2001, 5 straight years. So EWU still needs two more years straight to make that happen, but it will not. With our new recruits plus our returners, we should win the Big Sky regular season and tourney in 2005. But, in the mean time, hopefully we will get a better seed this year for the NCAA's and hopefully make it into the second round for the first time since 1998.

GO HORNETS!!

food poisoning

Post by BobcatBlood » Tue Nov 23, 2004 12:03 pm

Watched Cat Sports 30 last night and was interested to hear from Coach Mia (who was NOT making excuses) that the team was suffering from food poisoning of some kind during that last game. That just bites! They were playing so well. Still - a great season!! Congratulations ladies!

Things sound good for next year too. Though we lose Kamber (okay, let's hear the groans) and Leanne, there are apparently two strong players already on the roster that have had a year to learn from them and will be ready to step up.

Next year should be a great year!

We didn't get to see the younger players this year, but two quality setters were recruited last season and I'm sure there's somebody there to take Kinvig's spot. Stonehouse improved so much that she may be one of our best ever OH's before she's done, and is now a good defender also.

Kamber never really became a great setter until this season, but her all around play is what will be hard to replace. Better setting is what is needed to improve. This year, better setting and Kandice's excellent passing helped the Cats improve over last year. Recruiting wise, Miya needs to find a way to capitalize on the best fan base and arena combination in the conference. If the recruits knew how much better it was to be a Bobcat than to play in any other arena in the conference, we'd have the best team, hands down.
