If I’m reading correctly through the lines, the naming tells me that track boosters contributed a huge chunk of money toward making this facility a reality. Which is AWESOME to see the programs working in harmony. That’s not the case everywhere.
Pretty much what Leon says in his speech. Costello, Lamberty, Cruzado, Vigen, Ortt, Wolff (women’s track athlete), and Weese spoke. Everyone kind of echoed the same themes of thanking the donors and talking about the importance of the facility and how big of a deal it will be for both programs and the university as a whole. How training on a larger 300 meter track is better than a 200 meter track. Sorry gris fans. The importance for distance runners being able to run inside during inclement weather events. Not having to set up and break down some of the track stuff (throwing areas, high jump, etc) before and after training and a bunch of other stuff.
Like I wrote previously, Lamberty mentioned that the indoor will be used for competition and training, so I’m guessing that means track meets wont be in the Brick any longer or not as often as they are now, which isn’t really that often, once or twice a year.
If you click on the 406 logo on the videos above, it will take you to YouTube and I see all of the speeches are posted there.

Headed there today. Drove by yesterday and the north parking lot looks ready for paving with the 'east' parking lot not too far behind. Also looked at the new scoreboard and it looks complete despite some of the comments about work on it last week.
We were there at 2:15 and walked through the BAC, AWESOME, and onto the field to check out the scoreboard. INCREDIBLE, only because it was when we were in Bozeman on our way to Townsend. And didn't stay because I thought it was invite only. Talked to a couple of fellows when we first got there.

I went by the new fitness center to take some photos but the street and sidewalks were blocked off, so I had to take them from different angles than I have before. Looks like they are working on turning part of West Grant into the new pedestrian walkway soon.
I spy a scrap of artificial turf in the dumpster. I wonder if this means they're putting the turf down in the bubble in time for fall camp?

I thought it might be from inside the fitness center when I saw it, but it could be from the bubble. I really want to see inside the new fitness center and look at all the cool stuff they have in there.

The larger dome definitely has its new turf down now.

Really!? That means the Cats beat the gris to having an indoor practice facility. Hilarious.
