1973. I couldn't locate any newspaper photos. I'd love to see the set up.

Glad you found that article and Warren Roger’s of Billings Gazette reporting back when newspapers covered nearly everything. This got me thinking and I believe 1973 might have been the first Class C State Football Championship. I know my Wilsall team had some success back then and before but ran into Charlo a couple times during their undefeated run of several years. I’m thinking after divisional they just stopped? Can anyone confirm or correct my memory?

It was the first since 1952. From 49-52 there was a C championship. No B championship until both B and C started in 1973. There was a B in the 30s but was technically A. Just A and B back then.

1973 Bozeman Rosary hosted Culbertson. Not sure of temperature but also recall a major snow storm and they had the option in Bozeman to be indoors. Played in MSU field house on dirt floor. I didn’t attend the game but believe they had one goal post at one end. BR won 18-0 so not really needed.
Who's Bozeman rosary?

The old Catholic school in Bozeman. Won at least two C hoop titles (61, 69) and the aforementioned grid title. Bozeman was much smaller back in the 60s. About 15,000. Big spike from 60 to 70, then slowed down, then ramped up in the 90s and has had two successive decades of about 35% population growth from 00 - 10 and 10-20. The 2020 census has the city population at 53,293 (est: 59,050 in 2023). Gallatin County was at 118,960 in 2020 (est: 126,409 in 2023).

The Law and Justice Center next to the County jail, which I believe is about to be torn down, was Rosary School. For many years the gym was used for church league and city league. It was a great little gym. Sometime in the late 80's or early 90's there was a fire that ruined the gym. The space was later converted for Police and Sheriff offices.

Has anyone driven by the stadium lately? If so, any noticeable changes to the parking lots or facility, or is it just a lot of piles of dirt and ditches still?

They are laying down concrete on both sides. Starting next to the stadium and moving outwards. Still a lot of work to do, but noticeable progress.

The curbing is going in around the parking lots and they are starting to spread gravel down as well. Looks like they aren't too far away from starting paving.

Only if you want. Its just a perspective of how much better ours will be. And how far away it is from their loser center.

Thanks @stevo!

Already pouring footings for the building, that's great! I'm sure steel will be going up before we know it. This thing is going to be massive. And the paved parking lots are really going to make a difference on the look of the whole facility.

I can't tell for sure, but it looks like some of the steel is sitting just South of the big dig.

That's what I thought too. That's a great sign...I know structural steel was hard to come by a couple years ago.
