The article they link to that says it was fully guaranteed doesn’t actually say that. Not all 2nd round picks get their salary fully guaranteed, so it’s pretty safe to assume a 6th rounder definitely isn’t.

Re: Tommy to the Raiders
I clocked the first guy at a 9 count and Tommy at an 8. A full second faster. And I may have rushed the count on Tommy so it wouldn't surprise me if I did it a agina and it was almost 2 faster.

The one I saw at lunch said it was. This one was easier to find and post. That is why I asked the question.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Fri May 09, 2025 1:56 pmThe article they link to that says it was fully guaranteed doesn’t actually say that. Re: Tommy to the Raiders
So is all this contracted money contingent on him actually making the team? I'm guessing so, but don't know how that all works.

Correct. His rookie contract wage is set, and it’s contingent on him making the 53 man roster.

Re: Tommy to the Raiders
He does get a sizable signing bonus for being drafted in the 6th round. That’s his only guaranteed money unless he makes the 53. Practice Squad seems to be a given pending health, and they make good money.nanacat wrote: ↑Fri May 09, 2025 7:23 pmThanks!BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Fri May 09, 2025 6:10 pmCorrect. Re: Tommy to the Raiders
So this is probably a tough question to answer..... but what is the percentage\likelyhood of a player that gets drafted, making the 53 man roster? 90%??? I have no idea.

Re: Tommy to the Raiders
For a 6th round pick I'd guess it's less than a 90% success rate but probably still over 50%. The chances of a 6th round pick at least making the practice squad even if the player doesn't make the 53 man roster would be quite high. Subjectively speaking maybe we can bump those percentages up for Tommy as I will NEVER bet against that guy having success in anything he does in life.

Re: Tommy to the Raiders
Cameron suggests the Raiders could leverage Pegues’ skills in innovative ways. Imagine a wildcat formation featuring Pegues, who notched seven touchdowns on just 21 carries as Lane Kiffin’s wildcat quarterback, paired with Montana State standout Tommy Mellott. It’s a lineup that promises to keep defenses on their toes.

That's pretty funny. Seriously though... I think they're both high character dudes but I guarantee Cam ribs him sometimes - "How bout that last game huh? What a doozy." That's gotta sting.

I got a full second too, however, I think it’s a little more. Tommy appears to get through the ladder 1 second quicker and does not have as much wasted movement with the hip drop and cut.

It’s still hard for me to believe that my favorite team drafted my favorite Bobcat. It’s hard to not be positive about my Raiders after almost 25 years of almost all garbage football.SparkCat wrote: ↑Sun May 11, 2025 5:09 amI got a full second too, however, I think it’s a little more.
