Re: Cats @ Idaho State Predictions
The ‘Cats do start slowly and that’s Vigen’s MO. Close to the chest in the first half, play to get a lead (whether it’s 3 or 7 or 10) above all else. Third quarter MSU usually has better adjustments — if they do they win. Fourth quarter the lead may not be big but the D closes down if necessary (see UNM).
So — Idaho State. ‘Cats score on first or second possession, eat up much of the first quarter clock. ‘Cats keep grinding but score on a long pass play to a wide-open receiver. Grind another 80 yards but lose a disputed knee-down fumble review. Add a field goal. Idaho State scores on a bunch of passes in a row. Halftime MSU 17-7 as ‘Cats Defense only gives up two first downs before the touchdown drive. MSU plays very conservatively as Hall flips the field three times on excellent punts. They own a lead in a dome!
Trying to take a lead away from Coach Vigen is a tall order. ‘Cats #RTDB and outscore the Bengals 14-3 in the third as the O-line rolls like a steamroller. Coach Hawkins asks, “Where did all the time go? I thought quarters were 15 minutes long!”. Bobcats wind the clock in the fourth quarter. Score 10, as the placekicker sticks a long cross-wind kick in the dome, because the doors are all open on one side as the Bengal fans are leaving. Bengals score late on a TD bomb.
MSU offense and defense each get game balls. Control the game start to end, by cleaning up the gremlins that have been present in other games. O-line and D-line are both dominant.
MSU: 7, 10, 14, 10 41
ISU: 0, 7, 3, 7 17

If Allegiant were bussing the Cats to Pocatello, they would end up in Pocono at least a day late.RickRund wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 11:05 amWe should be fine since we are not being bussed by Allegiant..MSU01 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 7:48 amThat's always what they have done in the past. All airlines are terrible with delays and cancellations. Its not unique to Allegiant any longer.

I didn’t try to find an answer, but I thought I heard I heard at some point, that the NCAA dictates how far a team has to travel to a game before they are allowed to fly.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 4:45 pmAnybody know if the team is busing or flying to Pokey?

I think it's 400 miles, and does it apply to regular season games when the NCAA isn't footing the bill?Montanabob wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 10:06 pmbus under 450 miles.Mrs TrackCat wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 8:04 pmI didn’t try to find an answer, but I thought I heard I heard at some point, that the NCAA dictates how far a team has to travel to a game before they are allowed to fly.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 4:45 pmAnybody know if the team is busing or flying to Pokey?

Student-athletes certified as eligible to compete may not be carried in any capacity other than that of a student-athlete. There shall be a 450 mile limit under which air travel shall not be used for team travel within the Conference. Waivers of this policy may be granted in unique circumstances by the Commissioner.

Perfect. I knew it wasn't an NCAA thing until the post-season, but it makes sense the BSC has something in place.Montanabob wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2024 9:08 amit is BSC rules.....BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 10:32 pmI think it's 400 miles, and does it apply to regular season games when the NCAA isn't footing the bill?Montanabob wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 10:06 pmbus under 450 miles.Mrs TrackCat wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2024 8:04 pmI didn’t try to find an answer, but I thought I heard I heard at some point, that the NCAA dictates how far a team has to travel to a game before they are allowed to fly.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2024 4:45 pmAnybody know if the team is busing or flying to Pokey?

I've picked ISU as a sleeper team. Hard place to win, but great x2 defense and ground game prevail. 33-16.

So far, so good, at the half. Doesn’t mean I was happy to see that last ISU TD, though.
Updated final.

Had they kicked the PAT after the last touchdown….I am exactly spot on. So, in my mind the final was 38-17. BOOM!!
Punters are people too!!

Re: Cats @ Idaho State Predictions
So, the Bobcats were featured on Bad Beats last night.
If you saw it, at the end, VanPelt asked Stanford Steve "what did the Bobcats sign up for"?
Steve had a response but I couldn't understand it. Anyone hear what he said?
