Re: Moving up
Well, I think I have finally had a change of heart. I now realize that we will never win another National Championship. Unfortunately, as good as this team has been the last few years, we will never be an elite team that can take care of business when it matters. I am totally on board now for moving up and just playing for fun and a possible Bowl game at the end of the season. Hope it happens soon.

Re: Moving up
Funny, I had the exact same thought after the game was over. I have always been for staying at the FCS level and competing in the playoffs for a title. But I've been around way too long, and I too have come to the realization that my beloved Cats will never live up to the hype. Same old Bobcats; different season. There's always something that holds us down.GoCats18 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 6:14 pmWell, I think I have finally had a change of heart. Time to move up, challenge ourselves to better competition, and play for that bowl game.

Take a look at what you said. You are a sh1tty fan. And I am really disappointed and frustrated with the game today, but writing off any chance for the program to ever win a national championship is a sh1tty fan. And as for the holier than thou comment, I am not setting the bar very high. For f sakes, I am just not willing to quit on the program. - like you are doing.

And you're a good fan for calling other people shi$$y fans? Who are you to judge? What makes you so special?Cataholic wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 7:16 pmTake a look at what you said. Nobody said anything quitting on the team. What GoCats18 and I are referring to is the heartbreak that seemingly occurs every time we get close to our goals. It's disappointing. There's plenty of people on here with emotions and opinions all varieties. I will never call another Bobcat fan a shi$$y fan for speaking their mind. Again, kudos for being more special than the rest of us.

You are just upset that I called you EXACTLY how you anre acting. You quit on this team, on this program. Maybe that is just your emotions, but heh, your statement tells me exactly what type of fan you are.Camo_Cat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 7:24 pmAnd you're a good fan for calling other people shi$$y fans? Not upset at all, because you're completely wrong. I've been a Bobcat fan probably long before you were born, and will be long after you're gone. But I am happy for you that you need to categorize yourself as a better fan than others. Bravo, your self esteem probably needed that boost.

Help me out: 1) Are you a dedicated Cat fan or 2) Are you a sh11ty a55 fan?
I have suffered through the streak and seen some incredible teams end up disappointing, but the day that I spout such gibberish as you did, you can call me a “sh11ty fan”.

Just like I mentioned before, that's the difference between you and I. I'm not gonna call you a shi$$y fan for expressing your opinions, nor do I ever feel the need to call another Bobcat fan a shi$$y fan. But you keep staying classy.....Cataholic wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2023 7:40 pmHere is your comment: “I've been around way too long, and I too have come to the realization that my beloved Cats will never live up to the hype. Re: Moving up
Also, I think a lot of folks that just started showing up to games when the south end zone was built (cataholic) forget that it has been a long ass 39 years since we won a National Championship. I’m just finally burned out of buying in year after year, thinking this is finally the team, and realizing that maybe this isn’t the year after all. Call me a ****** fan….but I am frustrated, I am pissed, I am not going to pretend like we are Frisco bound just because we can run the ball or beat Sac State. I have opposed moving up probably more than anyone on here, but after the Idaho game, I’m just saying that maybe playing for a National Championship isn’t for this program. Maybe we are more of a Wyoming type team that should be settling for bowl games. Maybe that is what is best for the players. I don’t know….I am just tired.

If anything, MSU should consider moving to a different conference. Maybe not up but over. Does msu fit in with the other BSC members?
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Re: Moving up
Not sure how old you are, but I was at MSU when the streak started. And my allegiance to the team has never waivered. I have had season tickets for a couple of decades. Having tickets for that long doesn’t make me a better fan than you, but I have never bailed on the team like you. Especially when we are 6-2 and ranked in the top 10. So yes, I think you are a sh1tty fan.GoCats18 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 10:43 pmAlso, I think a lot of folks that just started showing up to games when the south end zone was built (cataholic) forget that it has been a long ass 39 years since we won a National Championship. Re: Moving up
Not trying to jump on you but honest question: would you really be happier being a fan of a team like Portland State or NAU or Wyoming or Central Michigan that have never even been in the conversation for a national championship? At least we have hope that one day the stars will align and we'll get there. I think NDSU's dominance has made people think only dynasty-type teams can ever win but we just need to catch lightning in a bottle once. I think the team we have right now is closer to being that complete than we have been since 84 and a lot of the key pieces are still young. This weekend hurt but like others have said, it may just be the match that lights the fire.GoCats18 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 10:43 pmAlso, I think a lot of folks that just started showing up to games when the south end zone was built (cataholic) forget that it has been a long ass 39 years since we won a National Championship. Re: Moving up
We barely lost to a second top 10 team on the road this year and now we might as well move up because we'll never win an NC?
Goodness people. This schedule is one of the more brutal schedule's we've had, going 9-2 or even 8-3 will put us in a good spot to make a playoff run, and anything can happen in the playoffs.

Re: Moving up
You guys act like I’m the Dr. Pepper guy that burned my entire MSU collection after one play. What I am simply saying is this has been a long journey, and every time I think this is the team, I realize it isn’t. We will make the playoffs. But when you have the coaching inconsistency that we do, player injuries, not using players like we should….it all adds up and unfortunately we will go out in the semifinals if not before then. Then, back to the drawing board.

Re: Moving up
Its October. A little early to say that this isn't the team. Its easy to get emotional after a loss and think that the season is over. Even many of the NSDU teams that won it all, lost a game during the season at some point.GoCats18 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 11:12 amYou guys act like I’m the Dr. Pepper guy that burned my entire MSU collection after one play.
