Here's the thing, at the time the Cat's were on their own 20. With the PF they would have had it at their own 35. As it was Montana got possession, and 3 plays later the Cat's intercepted, and got the ball at the Montana 40. In the end the no-call had no effect on the outcome.
One of those was near the end with Carpenter at the helm, unless we have a 3rd face-mask\face-guarding, PI no call. Watch the replay on KPAX.COM. Near the end, another one where he got mauled. I watched it several times and you can see his head snap back before the ball arrives. Having said that, I'm with GO_CATZ! We lost. Griz made the plays they needed to make, they deserved the win. Fact of the matter is, as was pointed out, we never should have been in the position of having one bad call kill our chances for the win. We could have easily been up by at least 11 points at half-time if not for poor execution. The plays were there. Same in the 2nd half, we had opportunities we didn't make. Time for Furman!!!

Great time to be a BOBCAT!

Does anyone have a link to the face mask photo from the end of the Griz game? It appears the link in this thread, to the Great Falls Tribune, has been changed.
Edit: I hope someone can help me out because I have a friend, who is a Griz fan, telling me there was no penalty on that play!

Thanks. I was wondering why everyone was so upset about Benny the Bull crowd surfing in the student sections.

Perfect. Thanks. In my search for the truth, I also found this one. It clearly shows that the no-call resulted in an interception. However, I agree with the other posters... we should not have been in a position that one bad call makes or breaks the game. Go Cats!

WOW! You know a case could be made on the Tribune pic that you can't really tell if he ever grabbed the facemask as the turned head was mainly looking at the ball but that one shows it was actually very blatant. As you said, can't blame the refs for the Cats not executing and getting the job done and I'm sure there were some bad no-calls for the Cats as well.

Say what you will about this non-call not affecting the game, or there were undoubtedly other non-calls, yada yada yada... it's still SICKENING that Big Sky refs could blow something this obvious; lots of folks I've talked to who were sitting in the Cat section said they clearly saw this infraction, as did my Dad who was watching on TV.
Too bad the guys getting paid were looking elsewhere...

I suppose I'm not real plain as try to question and explain how I'd view the entire officiating of the game. The first quarter saw all kinds of personal foul crap whereby the zebras asserted they weren't going to tolerate anything, then backed off to this kind of no-call garbage? How can anyone argue with facts and data? Go ahead and say "It's just Big Sky officials and we know they're no good across the board

"
