Or maybe they realize neither team is very good and move the Cats to #1.

Agree. And I'd take Tommy over Miller or Gronowski.

A lot of big penalties in the DSU game. Makes me think that maybe they’re not as good as we think.

That could happen easily but I just don't think both of them will win out given their schedules.

I'm not watching the game. Is this two great defenses imposing their wills or two teams that are overrated and playing to a stalemate? And which conclusion will the voters/committee come to?

Two very good defenses (especially SDSU) but both offenses have had costly penalties and missed opportunities for big plays. I have a really hard time seeing the committee seeding the loser of this game #2 if MSU goes 12-0.coloradocat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 9:00 pmI'm not watching the game. It’s definitely a hard hitting defensive battle. I don’t think either team is as dynamic as the Cats on offense though.coloradocat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 9:00 pmI'm not watching the game. In that case the only seeding options for MSU are #1 or #3.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 9:02 pmTwo very good defenses (especially SDSU) but both offenses have had costly penalties and missed opportunities for big plays. MSU #3: If the winner gets #1 and the loser played them to essentially a draw then clearly they're #2.
MSU #1: The DSUs are even but clearly have holes if neither team can get to double digits, regardless of how good the defenses are. Make then 2/3.
MSU #1 seems more legitimate but the DSUs have won almost every national title for the last 15 years. And we've only beaten them once in the playoffs during that span. Every member of the committee is human and history matters to humans.

"Essentially a draw" is not a thing. A close loss is still a loss and MSU has an FBS win that looks better every week as UNM keeps winning.coloradocat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 9:08 pmIn that case the only seeding options for MSU are #1 or #3.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 9:02 pmTwo very good defenses (especially SDSU) but both offenses have had costly penalties and missed opportunities for big plays. If UC Davis is top 5 in a month that'll help the seeding discussion even more.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 9:02 pmTwo very good defenses (especially SDSU) but both offenses have had costly penalties and missed opportunities for big plays. I'm just playing devil's (committee's) advocate. It's not out of the realm of possibility that they talk themselves into that line of thinking.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 9:10 pm"Essentially a draw" is not a thing. Re: FCS Games 10/19
The 2 seed is very possible for MSU. The loser of this game will finish 10-2 at best, there's little chance that gets seeded over a 12-0 MSU with an FBS win and presumably wins over highly ranked Idaho, Davis, and the griz.coloradocat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 9:08 pmIn that case the only seeding options for MSU are #1 or #3.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 9:02 pmTwo very good defenses (especially SDSU) but both offenses have had costly penalties and missed opportunities for big plays. Re: FCS Games 10/19
Two weeks ago I was right there with you but after watching MSU play the last two weeks I see the chances of a 12-0 MSU team being seeded #3 as not impossible but very, very, very slim.coloradocat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 9:13 pmI'm just playing devil's (committee's) advocate. Looks like the Bison may do it.
I wouldn't be surprised is they just flip 1 and 2 positions and leave us at 3.

Did NDSU score too soon-whilst not making SDSU burn more timeouts?
