It is kinda humorous when cg tells some one else they argue. He told me I was not worth his time. Wait, is he related to Alpha? No alas he is just a humorless version.Cat Grad wrote:Go back to Galata...Billings is way too big for you, you belligerent contrarian. Re: Visiting Bozeman
Hey everyone,
So we ended up booking round trip to SLC from DC for under $300!!! The only problem is our trip will be a little shorter than we hoped. We arrive early Wednesday morning in SLC and none of us have ever visited SLC, so we all want to check out the city and the sites. But, would you guys suggest checking out the city and stopping some where half way to Bozeman and make the rest of the trip Thursday afternoon? Also, Friday the idea is to stay in Bozeman and check out the area and hike. Is there a sports bar that will play the Wisconsin game? We are still trying to figure out what we are gonna do Saturday, if we are gonna head east and then back south to SLC but we have an early flight Sunday morning back to the east coast.
Oh, is it true that there is some bar called Sip N Dip that has woman dressed as mermaids?
I do also love how my thread took off to y'all making fun of each others choice of beer and food.

Salt Lake has a tremendous amount of history and tradition and it is not limited to LDS and/or Traditional Mormon culture and practices, so yes, take in the sights there.WESTERNLEATHERNECKS wrote:Hey everyone,

On a contracted visit such as you are on, I'd suggest staying in Ennis or Big Sky Wednesday evening. Neither are long trips from SLC (Butte would be an extra drive and make you and your fellow travelers a bit worn out Wednesday but I'd personally do it).
Were you to stay in Butte, there is a wonderful sports bar that you could call ahead, inform them you're in state to watch the Cat-Jarhead game and you will be able to view the Badger game and be treated like royalty.
Definitely go through Cody on the way back to SLC.
Have a great time.

Re: Visiting Bozeman
I would maybe check out a few places in SLC Wed morning and head straight to Bozeman Wed night. Halfway is Idaho Falls, its ok, nothing special. Or you could go through Jackson Hole, West Yellowstone, Big Sky, Butte or a few others and stay there Wed.WESTERNLEATHERNECKS wrote:Hey everyone,

Spectators (Sports bar on campus) is a must stop before the tailgates Thurs afternoon. As for the Wisconsin game Fri, most bars in town will have that game on. Some options are Specs (see above), the Club Tavern, Sidewinders, Cats Paw, or any of these bars DT: Cannary, Rocking R, Bar IX, Pourhouse, Bozeman Taproom. If you are gonna be DT for dinner, Id recommend Open Range, but they don't have tvs.
Yes the Sip n Dip does exist, and they do have mermaids. Some are ok... haha. But, that is in Great Falls, which is 3 hours north of Bozeman. Its not worth the drive.

*Edit In the event you decide to go to Butte, I'd suggest you stay in the Finlen Hotel as the bars and good dining is within walking distance. Take in the Mining Museum there and go look at that old renovated high school football stadium just for the nostalgia of it all.Cat Grad wrote:Salt Lake has a tremendous amount of history and tradition and it is not limited to LDS and/or Traditional Mormon culture and practices, so yes, take in the sights there.WESTERNLEATHERNECKS wrote:Hey everyone,

Re: Visiting Bozeman
Personally, I'd leave SLC right away and head north and spend the night in Virginia City or Ennis.
Do this:

and this:

Thursday morning head towards Bozeman and perhaps hit the Lewis and Clark Caverns
http://stateparks.mt.gov/lewis-and-clark-caverns/
If you get into town mid-afternoon and get a late lunch then head up towards campus, there will be plenty of tailgating.
If you're flying out of SLC Sunday morning don't try to do the Cody thing, you'll be frustrated at the time spent driving. I'd spend Saturday heading south through Yellowstone either via Gardiner or West Yellowstone.

The Sip and Dip is in Great Falls, you'll probably miss it. Rich K. gave you some good advice. I don't know about the sports bar, but there are several bars with multiple TV's that they will usually pu on what you want. There is a Buffalo Hot wings with lots of tv'sWESTERNLEATHERNECKS wrote:Hey everyone,

Those are all great ideas! When one opens the propaganda put out on the state, invariably there will be pictures of Charlie Russell Country, Butte, Big Sky/Ennis, the Paradise Valley north of Gardiner and a few pics of Glacier...lots of driving in a short period of time for our guests.Rich K wrote:Personally, I'd leave SLC right away and head north and spend the night in Virginia City or Ennis.

Re: Visiting Bozeman
I was filling my car with gas at costco in southern Idaho the car beside me had Montana plate and a sticker showing the car was from Bozeman. I kindly asked if she was a Bobcat fan. Her response was I DONT LIKE FOOTBALL. So i told her her they have other sports. 100-1 odds she was an implant. Real Montanans with say and wave as they pass on a dirt road.
