How easy would he be to work with when he is bitter because he got booted from his alma mater.....not sure how much his pride would get in the way but I don't think it would be a good situation.

Another thing for all the supporters of durham....next time there is a close game walk on over by the bench and look at durham in the huddle, he acts like he is going to break down and cry. He shakes uncontrolably and never seems to know what to say. But before he goes into the huddle watch as he wastes half the timeout standing outside the huddle talking to his assistants in order to only have to shake and stutter for the other half of the timeout. Not A GOOD LEADER what-so-ever!!
Coach Durham has forgotten more basketball that you will ever know....like you know what goes on in a huddle! Come on!

Durham has probably forgotten more about basketball than any of us know. Also the Schwab on ESPN has probably forgotten more about hoops than any of us know but I haven't seen him getting any coaching offers. Just beause we aren't coaches doesn't mean we are unable to recognize when things aren't going south.

Michael Moore has forgotten more about making movies than I know, but that doesn't mean he is any good at it!!

Is this the 18 year plan or the 20 year plan. At least we'll have things turned around for the 08 season.

Watch most big time college games and all of the pro games. Every time out they go first to the assistants to discuss options and then to the team to tell them what they want done.

1995-96- MSU
1996-97- NAU
1997-98- NAU
1998-99- WSU
1999-00- UM
2000-01- Northridge*
01-02- MSU
02-03- WSU
03-04- EWU
04-05- PSU
what team has dominated the big sky the last ten years? what team has won 3 titles or more? are all these teams terrible? should all these coaches get fired? or should we realize that a conference like the big sky is hard to recruite in? and for the most part...the luckiest coach wins... and mick is doing just as good of a job as anyone. as sson as some coach in the big sky starts doing what mick has done, and consitently wins a lot of games, then i dont want to hear it.
Since Mick was promoted up to Head Coach
Year MSU in Tourney Tourney Champ
91 -no tourney for MSU -UofM def. Idaho
92 -no tourney for MSU -UofM def. Nevada
93 -0-1 loss to Weber -Boise St. def. Idaho
94 -0-1 loss to Boise -Boise def. Idaho St.
95 -1-1 W vs. Idaho and L to UofM -Weber def. Uof M
96 -2-0 W vs. Idaho and Weber -MSU def. Weber
97 -0-1 loss to Northridge -UofM def. Northridge
98 -2-1 W vs. UofM and Weber, L to NAU -NAU def. MSU
99 -1-1 W vs. Northridge, L to Weber -Weber def. NAU
00 -no tourney for MSU -NAU def. Northridge
01 -0-1 L to NAU -Northridge def. EWU
02 -01 L to UofM -UofM def. EWU
03 -no tourney for MSU -Weber def. EWU
04 -no tourney for MSU -EWU def. NAU
05 -0-1 loss to Uof M -UofM def. Weber

Mick/MSU is 6-9 in tournament games, 1-1 in championship games.
UofM has gone dancing 5 times and 5-1 in championship game
Weber has gone dancing 3 times and is 3-2 in champ. games
EWU has gone dancing once and is 1-3 in champ. games
NAU has gone dancing twice and is 2-2 in champ. games
Idaho St. had not made the NCAA's and is 0-1 in champ. games
Portland and Sac St. haven't made the NCAA's and haven't made a championship game.
Northridge won once and was 1-3 in champ games
Boise went twice and was 2-0
Idaho 0-2 and Nevada 0-1

Not sure if this is good or bad but some more food for thought.

So basically we are above Idaho St/Sac St/and Port St/ in terms of going to the chipper and then to the NCAA tourney. below Nau/Mt/Weber/Ewu so 5th place in terms of conference in 16 years. My feelings still are unchanged, you would like to think that the all-time winningest coach in league history would have gotten his teams to more than 2 conf championships and 2 tourney championship games. Looks like to me its just a case of longevity with below average results.

2 title game appearances in 15 years.

In an 8 team conference, the "law of averages" says you should play in 4 title games in 16 seasons.

By that standard, we have been significantly below average.
