I'm also putting NDSU fans on the same level as the gris now. Chanting let's go bison while Junior is down on their sideline was so classess.

Pretty shocking that they didn't try to win the game on a Taco punt return. Wasn't that by far their best chance? Hmm.
They would have punted it out of bounds.
WITH TIME ON THE CLOCK AND OUR BALL
Seems weird to me getting upset about it, but do you. Block punt and return for TD is near as likely when percentages are that low.
Its also on the tail end of how badly they managed the clock at the end of the first half.

It was bad management to close out the half twice in a row.

Probably didn't make a difference but it was still a boneheaded decision.
I disagree.
We should go play poker in Vegas sometime. I'd love to take your money.
You bet long odds and bluff bad hands. Sure.
LOL, you go all in on a blocked punt, but I bet bad hands? LOL.

At the end of the day… I will forever miss watching Tommy play football. What a joy to watch these past four years.
Yup, what he did do is set that QB bar extremely high and let’s hope our next dude wants to step up and out do what Tommy did, and I hope that’s the case.
The next dude can certainly give it a shot. There will never be another Tommy, skill or intelligent-wise.
Who knows. Identical to Tommy’s style of play, probably not, however, we thrived at time in years past with Chambers when Tommy was out. Like I said, he set the bar, now someone can beat it.

That was the worst coached game (especially the first half) that I think I've seen. I'm just disgusted with our coaching staff. I, for one, hope Vigen takes the first offer across his desk. I'd rather rebuild with a coach who wants to win it all and shows it.

Anybody else wonder why Vigen just can't seem to beat NDSU, despite having the best team in the FCS who embarrassed the team that beat NDSU? I don't.

I'm out. We'll see what next year brings. I'll always cheer for the boys, but I'm getting tired of this. No excuse for tonight.
You are possibly one of the worst fans on this site and I hope Vigen stays and you pick a new team to cheer for.

When you have the best player in the country you can’t spend the entire first half playing so conservative. Obviously we thought we could just run it down there throats with power offense. Not sure why. Our advantage was on the edge with Tommy making decisions. Also defense can not completely vacate the middle of the field on a 3rd and 3. You could see that draw coming a mile away. Not even sure that was the play but when Miller saw us playing DT outside their tackles and our linebackers outside the hash it was and easy pickup. Then our safeties fly outside as well. What the hell
Great take. That Miller run was inexcusable in game #16. When you can't "contain" their two best players, it's trouble.

There will never be another Travis Lulay, or another Denarius McGhee, or another Dakota Prukop either. But that doesn't mean there won't be another guy who is just as impactful as Tommy has been in his own way and with his own set of skills.

I'm pretty sure at least 2 guys blew their zone assignment. There is no call in the defensive playbook where you tell your 4 down linemen to pin back their ears & go full bore pass rush and also vacate everything between the hashes.

I said it looked like trouble before the snap...and I'm 90% certain that it wasn't a called draw, but Miller didn't hesitate to pull it and run.

Off to next year I guess. No prize for second place. Curious who will step up at qb next year and what the offense will look like.
The Stanford QB transfer Vigen is following on social media still hasn't committed anywhere yet. Seems like he could be a decent possibility and is a dual threat type of player that fits the offense MSU likes to run. Nobody will replace Tommy but I'd feel pretty confident with him and Chance competing for the job.
If you are talking about Ashton Daniels, didn’t he commit to Auburn?

No, Justin Lamson. Played quite a bit in 2023 but not much this year.

It looked like Daly got sucked over and played toward the boundary. Think he was the only LB in on the play.

OK, this one lured me back in.

I've been a loyal fan of the Cats since 1978 and I will die one. I was at every home game in '84. I was in the east stands watching Tommy White fly down the sidelines and catch balls on his fingertips. I watched Joe Roberts make the pick six to end all pick sixes and screamed until I was hoarse. Since those days I have been as loyal a fan of Bobcat football as you will ever see, so shove your comment up your a** ... Duane.

Pardon the hell out of me, but I'm sick and tired of losing because of our coaches, not because of our kids, who give it all and then some. I've lived through the dismal Cliff Hysell years and the milquetoast Rob Ash days, and still remained a loyal fan of the players and the team and the University...from which I hold three degrees. So up your's.

When Vigen can bring himself to beat NDSU, I'll retract my accusation. I won't hold my breath. The kids on the field tonight had all the talent necessary to embarrass NDSU on a national stage. Ask yourself why we lost that game. There's only one correct answer.

It's a shame that a fabulous season had to end with a sour taste in all of our mouths. Last year when we played NDSU into OT I think we all thought that we had finally pulled even with them, but tonight NDSU was the better team. They only lost by 5 to FBS Colorado and by 1 to South Dakota. I think they probably came in with a BIG chip on their shoulder tired of hearing about our 15-0 record and Tommy Mellot when they had such an outstanding QB as well. The first half is what killed us. We were underprepared, outcoached and outplayed. Great effort in the 2nd half, but just too big of a hole to dig out from. Now you have to wonder what in the world will happen in the portal. I'm confident we will have a good team but we start off with Oregon then South Dakota State. I hope I never hear another word about moving up to the FBS. Hold on to those 1984 sweatshirts boys!

Because they scored more points? Sorry, just wanted to add fuel to the fire.

That 4th and 5 play was atrocious, hell first half was atrocious. I do think Vigen and co have left me scratching my head many of times, however, he is an individual who learns from his mistakes. Next year if the Cats can come out and kick the ****** out of a, even if a probably down, SDSU that will help a ton. Also being a long time fan and even a former collegiate coach, I think he will get us there.

You are acting like a spoiled child, not a loyal fan and you are embarrassing yourself. If the kids had all the talent necessary they would have would executed every single play perfectly. Players and coaches were not perfect tonight but they both stayed in the fight until the end. Vigen has continued to build up the program to be competitive with the Dakotas.

Go sleep it off and hopefully in the morning you will have a better outlook.

If Vigen really wanted to win and wasn’t just a Bison double agent, he would have called more touchdowns and pick sixes. A real Benedict Arnold.
