Let's see, during branding, I was able to get more than a few Grain Belts out of the iced down water trough, I graduated to Lucky Lager in high school, used to go to Mack's Inn at Island Park to get Coors (yuck) because it was only sold in Idaho, Colorado, and Texas (I think), then when I got to college Oly was what we could get for like 60 to 99 cents a six pack and we all proudly wore our t-shirts that had the ducks talking to each other: "And they think it's the water

What the hell happened to GOKATS? He asked if anybody needed anything and I asked for a 36 pack to get me started on my conditioning program. Did he wind up in the Lounge in Belgrade and get sidetracked?

Jinx-breaking is now a team endeavor. If the offense needs a turnover, the defense needs to get one. If the defense needs points, the offense needs to score. If Cat Grad needs a 36 pack......well you get my point.
It's not about individual honors and awards....it's about the team.

I remember as a kid, my grandma (all 4'10" of her) at some point in the evening would say loudly, "I think it's time for a Belt".

I would like to join also. A lot of you have talked about starting conditioning now, I don't think I have been out of shape since I left school.

All those years ago, although i am not +45 yet (at least for a few more weeks)

I'm tailgating prior to the Raiders/ Chiefs game. It takes a lotta vitamin R to be a Raiders fan.

I never was one that believed in stretching (and now there's a great deal of experts in training that are writing that stretching may in fact be a contributing factor to all the hamstring injuries) and just like Bob Knight complains of getting a sore ass at his age now, I don't want one of them because I may fall off the bar stool. My major physical ailment is--shall we call it tennis elbow due to all those 12 ounce curls? Would pacing yourself be one of those attributes we all need right now?

Our winter conditioning program should consist mostly of improving our stamina. Games are won and lost in the fourth quarter, and our jinx-breaking efforts are no good if we have flamed out in the first half.
Therefore, most of our winter conditioning should consist of beer, being consumed over several hours.
During late spring and summer, we will shift into training our fast-twitch muscles and our explosiveness. Thus our conditioning at that time will consist of whiskey, mostly consumed over short periods of time. We will intersperse this with occasional long training runs of beer.
Don't forget ( and this is a very important point) that the best thing we can do for our training is utilize a training partner. This partner will provide us with the motivation when we don't feel like training - will push us to greater and greater effort - and most importantly be our designated driver.
Now, I am off to a nice dinner with the family. I will be drinking beer, and my wife will be driving.
Merry Christmas....and GO CATS.

I just started the off-season condition with a nice bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream. Yummmmmmmmmmmmm. Moving up to some harder stuff as I will be traveling to Billings to stay with in-laws. I will call that my first exhibition game

I will be spending Christmas Eve at my father's house and Christmas day at my mother's. I love them both dearly but I can't make it through the entire day without drinking a couple of beers. I will cherish this time spent with my family and count it as a blessing knowing that they are helping me train for 2007. This truly is a team effort. Thanks Mom and Dad! I may not be around to post until a week or so after the New Year, so Happy ChristKwanzzaHannakuhmas to all. Peas on Earth.
