No matter who offered what, if he turned down a full ride for a half ride, he is one fry short of a happy meal
I know I will get flamed on this board for saying this, cause you guys, as usual, will just call me an arrogant Griz fan, but I believe we get a lot of Montana kids right now due to the Griz tradition built over the last 20 years, 14 straight playoffs, too many BSC titles to count, 2 national champs, the best stadium in 1-AA, etc.

I know someone who coaches football in Minnesota. He had not been to a game in Wa-Griz for over 10 years. Due to a funeral he had to come back to Missoula the week of the Semifinal, so he went with a friend to the game. He is not a Griz fan or a Cat fan, but the next day his comment was, "With that stadium and that game atmosphere, how does MSU get any of the good in state kids?" I tend to agree. I know those kind of comments make Cat fans mad, and you think your Game day atmosphere compares to UM, but it just doesn't. Whether you want to believe it or not, a lot of kids just want to go play in the environment at Wa-Griz. If saying that makes me an arrogant Griz fan, so sorry!!
Yes, you will probably get flamed.

Did ya happen to notice the little ‘wink’ character next to that post? Do you think you’re the first person to come over here and make this post? We all realize that the consensus is that you have a great game day atmosphere among the general populace. One big problem that most of us have with it is that the people at the game are Griz fans. You see, we like to go to games where the fans are Cat fans, or fans of about any other team in the world. We’d all love Wa-Griz if it didn’t have the Griz part in the name and if there weren’t so many Griz fans at the game. We’d even love that team, if they didn’t have Griz on the helmets. We respect what you have, but don’t necessarily like it. Still, I’d rather go to a game in Bozeman, than Missoula. Imagine that. There are many things about a game in Bozeman that are better than Missoula.

There are other problems with your atmosphere. One is that it’s a pro football game atmosphere, not a college game atmosphere. Since when do college games have Harley’s parading around the field? Your mascot would be great at an NBA game, but just doesn’t fit in at college football. The PA guy acts just exactly like the guy at the Denver Bronco games. He would never get away with that at a big time college. Your tailgates are like going to the mall. Tailgates are meant to be just that, set up on a pickup tailgate, not a bunch of tents from local businesses with long lines of strangers to a beer tap that you pay for. Tailgates are where you bring your own beer and food and hang out with your friends.

Don’t call it a great college game day atmosphere. It’s a great atmosphere for a pro football game. Go to Ann Arbor, Austin, Knoxville, Norman, South Bend, Columbus, etc. and see what a ‘great’ COLLEGE game day atmosphere looks like before you label yours as such. Not bragging, but I’ve been to 40-50 pro games and about 250 college games and yours is like a pro game. Sorry. Most people who go to your games probably don’t have that kind of background to make an analysis like this, but I’ve talked to a lot of Griz, Cat, neutral fans that know what I’m talking about. To us what you have is unique.

This isn’t to say you don’t have some college attributes. I noticed this year your band is much bigger and they have new uniforms and you have a cool student section.

Any ideas who will start for us in the secondary next year. I could picture Retorriano??? at one safety spot. But with Fuller likely gone, I do not know who will fill out the rest of spots.
Supposedly Kramer has made an offer to CB Earl Wilson from Saddleback CC in California. Maybe he will play a corner? Has good size at 6' 185.

If so, here is some info on Wilson.

Says he's from San Diego. We have four SD guys, so that should help. Sounds like he's a good tackler, too.

Otherwise the DA would be just wasting everybody's time & money, now wouldn't he? Ideals are good to have, especially when they're principled, but that really doesn't preclude the fact that 'The State' has a right to defend itself. The 'General Will' is the 'Will of the citizen' comes to mind, something by Rousseau I believe, 'Sovereignty of the Body Politic' and all that that allows innocence until proven otherwise.

But I really don't think I was out of line with the word 'likely' emphasized and the attendant assumption of what that entails if more so than a mere 'likely,' subsequently a hypothetical statement reflecting the 'likely' result.
For cryin out loud..... some people just word things differently than you choose to interpret them. Get over it. This isn't the forum for "Sovereignty of the Body Politic". I'm sure thousands of posts on egriz could be interpreted differently from the way they were intended to read.

I'm sure EWU is not the only school that deals with scholarships in creative fashions. Every player fills out an aid/academic application. If a student has good grades he receives 2-$3,000 in grants off the top. If a player qualifies for financial aid he will take the grant money and not the loans. Those funds don't count against athletic schollies thus freeing up tons of money when talking about spreading those valuable $$$ around...
