When I lived in Bozeman in the early '90s, the stadium still had the name. I wasn't around for the name change, and it seemed a good enough name after all Reno H. Sales did.

So, the main reason is: nostalgia.

Griz/Cat fans is quite a difference than many states.

Football is king in Montana. As is in TX, FL, OH and PA. Difference is that these states are hotbeds for talent and have many more players than MT. They have huge populations. They have many major college and pro teams to devote their efforts too. In Montana it is the GRIZ and CATS, that is it!!!!!

If the Griz/cats rematch in Chatty, it is the biggest news the state could ever have. The state gets national recogniton and the programs go down in history as the 1st div 1a (subdivision) championship played against schools from the state in a tournament format!!!!!

Even if 1A (bcs) goes to a playoff format GRIZ/CATS will have their place in history, just as the GRIZ will in consecutive playoff appearances. Those are things I am and would be proud of regarding the GRIZ and the state!!!!!

As much as I hate the CATS when we play them, I respect them and root for them for the conference, the state, and making history. Imagine the stories Montanan's can tell pass along to generations about the NC game in 2006..........That appeals to me, regardless of which team you root for.

Also the recognition helps both programs and the conference in terms of recruiting better players nationally. The only drawback with an all MT final would be the misery for the loser.

GO GRIZ and CATS, make MT prouder!!!!!

Shut the State down for the weekend if it's Cat/Griz week in Chatty. It could be as big a game as any bowl game outside the BCS games. We could set it up like they do at the Rose Bowl, with each team getting half the stadium...that would just be awesome to have half blue/gold and half maroon/silver.

I betcha ESPN would put that game in a good time slot, too!

Well, there I said it....the biggest money draw would be Cat/Griz in Chatty...so let it be written.....
