Looks like the Choatepack is going to lose a close one. Too bad. I was hoping they would beat NM.

For New Mexico, Scottie had 13 carries forv58 yds. Bankston was 6 Carrie’s, 19 yards…Layne was the leading rusher.

Re: Week 8 (Big Sky week 4)
Eck was the leading tackler, 11 total. For some reason I didn’t think he followed Dad to New Mexico.
Not a bad showing for former Big Sky players.

I can’t decide if NoCos defense was all of a sudden bad or if Sac Sts offense is starting to hum. Sacs defense was bad though. Cheeks got behind the secondary over and over again and done very poor tackling all around.catsrback76 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 18, 2025 10:31 pmOver 900 yards of offense in the Sac/NoCo game…where’s the Defense?

2-1 straight, 3-0 versus spread.
16-3 overall straight, 15-4 against the spread.

Ya, that game Friday night might be a classic Big Sky shootout, 63 to 60. Of course then you start thinking that and it ends up 10-7.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Sun Oct 19, 2025 8:32 amI can’t decide if NoCos defense was all of a sudden bad or if Sac Sts offense is starting to hum. I think it’s going to get ugly for them next week at sac state

They don’t. Their fans will tell you they do. Now-ranked wins hold much more significance than then-ranked wins for this exact reason.

Re: Week 8 (Big Sky week 4)
I did a matchup on Massey with NDSU, SDSU, Tarleton, UC Davis and UND v the gris. The gris only beat UC Davis, by 2. It has the CATS beating the Gris, 34-27. Versus NAU , the Gris win 35-28… Just added th gri and sac, the Gris prevail 35-29. The CATS Vsac, CAT win 37-23…MTmadeCat wrote: ↑Sun Oct 19, 2025 12:18 pmThisProdigal Cat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 18, 2025 6:37 pmThey’ve made it past their second playoff game what… once in a decade and a half? I think it’s going to get ugly for them next week at sac state. Bergen single handedly took them to Frisco that year with his punt returns against Furman and NDSU (yes, I know they had a good defense too). Wa-griz is a tough place to play, but since Hauck returned, they have had 2-3 home games or more per season that they have either lost to or struggled with “mehh” opponents. Only MSU under Vigen has “consistently” struggled there the past 2 trips. I think that changes this year. At this point in the season, I also think UND wins a rematch home/away/neutral with UM, and any of the top 6-8 teams in the country beat them home/neutral and have a strong chance to win in Wa-griz. Their defense isn’t very good, nor is their o-line. Two of the most important factors in winning deep into the playoffs.

Re: Week 8 (Big Sky week 4)
That’s awesome. They have playmakers and a good QB, but they have had those kinds of guys for a long time. They have had good QB’s under Hauck, they have just mismanaged that situation so poorly in recent years. I think UND and ISU laid the blue print to beat them, even though they made some mistakes to allow UM to come back and pull out wins. If you can bottle up Gilman, you have to then limit Wortham. Easier said than done, but I think the top teams in the country, at this moment, can do just that while dominating their lines and scoring against their defense. Will be interesting to see how both schools progress over the next month before the brawl.RickRund wrote: ↑Sun Oct 19, 2025 4:00 pmI did a matchup on Massey with NDSU, SDSU, Tarleton, UC Davis and UND v the gris.
