Re: Attendance
If the east stands are configured to connect directly to the Sonny Hollander zone you give up 2200 seats. That would need to be redesigned to some extent? East stands as they are for design.

Heck lets just tear it down and build a hill around the field. We will rename our stadium the donut and sell each ticket for $5. That’s one way to get up attendance.

Re: Attendance
Gris have been stating that they have X number of consecutive sellouts for regular season games. There is no way they sold out for PSU. Lots of empty seats. And the stated capacity is over 25,000 yet ESPN attendance shows 24,500 for attendance of the PSU game. No way it was that even that high, but it will be interesting to see how UM somehow continues the fable of consecutive sellouts.Bocephus wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 5:30 pmExpand wagriz so they can have more empty seats? Waiting for the announcement of the big Cat fund-raising effort to expand the stadium with suites and seats (to get 1,000 more than UM). Largely Yellowstone Club-backed, I heard. I think Montana is also in the stadium expansion mode too, but I haven't heard anything specific.
I heard this too (again; from someone else) yesterday as the radio guy was doing a remote broadcast from a bar in Anaconda. Don’t think he talked about it on his show so it’s probably not official yet but it was discussed before the show. Apparently, Denny Washington put up some big cash for an expansion at WaGriz and the bubz group is putting up even more. The numbers I heard were like $150m vs $250m”

Re: Attendance
Easy, because announced attendance is based on tickets sold. All schools do the same, so the announced attendance will always be more than the actual number of people at the game. As long as those empty seats were sold to someone, they count.Cataholic wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 8:52 amGris have been stating that they have X number of consecutive sellouts for regular season games. The ESPN announced attendance is the reported attendance , hence seats sold.MSU01 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 8:56 amEasy, because announced attendance is based on tickets sold. Empty seats at a sold out regular season game indicates the level of interest by those ticket holders.MSU01 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 8:56 amEasy, because announced attendance is based on tickets sold. Very true, but even if the stadium is half full it can still be a "sellout" based on tickets sold.rivercat wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 9:01 amEmpty seats at a sold out regular season game indicates the level of interest by those ticket holders.MSU01 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 26, 2024 8:56 amEasy, because announced attendance is based on tickets sold. Re: Attendance
Why do you say that? Im not seeing where 2200 seats are gone with a remodel to match the endzone. At a minimum, its highly likely that two sections would be added, one on each end of the current configuration. Also, the endzone bowl is quite a bit higher than the current east grandstand. Whether is happens now or later, it should be designed to add in a second deck.

Re: Attendance
When you approach Bobcat Stadium from the north (walking from the Brick) you see huge holes on the corners--to the sides of our new scoreboard. If we could somehow fill in these "corner holes" along with putting in as many rows as possible in the north end zone up to the scoreboard, I think this would add quite a few seats and would complete the "bowl" as much as it seems to be possible. But actually, the plan that is currently in place looks pretty good to me, thought I think they could add a few more seats in the "corners" of the north end zone.Monymony wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 4:13 pmWhats your opinion on closing the corners in and adding seating below the windows? Could they turn that lower section into a VIP/premium section of some sort?AFCAT wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 4:06 pmNow, put the scoreboard pilings and BAC in there, don't block the windows, and raise the seating up eight to ten feet to include the proposed party area underneath the stands and reevaluate how much seating you get.aucat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 3:26 pmGo to “virtual tour of Montana State’s 20 year athletic plan” on YouTube and you’ll see quite a few seats added in the north end zone. The end zone is “enclosed “ on the lower level to pretty much complete the bowl. I would think this part of the 20 year plan should get priority after the indoor facility is completed

Re: Attendance
I did some FBS snooping earlier and when the time comes for an expansion they should skip 5k and go straight for a 10,000 seat increase. That would cover the standing room fans plus 5,000 for a seating capacity of 27,777. Ideally leaving the SRO for upwards of 32,000 in attendance.
Hopefully while planning on this they allow for a later expansion of an additional 10,000. Looks like a lot of Mountain West stadiums are around 40,000 with some (Fresno state) getting up to 50,000. If that is the long term goal to be in a division with the group of whatever’s we need to allow for our stadium to be on par
