It's going to be an off-season of major change. Doesn't necessarily mean they won't be great in 2025. This current senior group was great immediately when they took the team lead as sophomores. It will be sad to see all these great players leave the program, but exciting to watch all the talent in the pipeline get onto the field.
Well now I am depressed
Would you feel better knowing nearly every single position with seniors listed that get significant snaps has a dude behind them, or already in front of them, that has got tons of playing time. I've listed some of them above in bold.

I mean Grant Vigan threw how many touchdowns last night to make Gallatin the only remaining undefeated team? Don't discount him.
I think we can pretty safely say that Grant Vigen won’t be playing next year.

Dont forget a possible HC change...
Possible but unlikely IMO. He will have two sons on the team next year. I think that will keep him here for a while.
It's a factor for sure, but Choate left while his kid was on the team.

And in regard to the above QB discussion, there is a 0% chance we go into next year without a transfer QB.

I have a ton of friends who are huge SDSU fans and alumni. They are telling me that the QB waiting in the wings for Gronowski to graduate is going to be special.
That may be true, but its a common theme for fans to say exactly that. It's difficult to tell until the new guys gets some real reps with some real adversity.
SDSU has recruited very well.
Yes I know, but recruiting and developing a QB that can play at the level of Gronowski, Miller or Mellott is not a slam dunk even for top FBS teams and coaching staffs.
How many times in a row does NDSU have to do it before it’s a slam dunk? Jensen, Wentz, Stick, Lance, Miller. Last three out of there are in the NFL.
And Cole Payton has already got playing time the last 2 years.
I don't think Payton is going to be Millers replacement, He is primarily a +1 run QB. Yeah they will have him through but I think its just to keep defense off balance, he is not very successful throwing but will lower the shoulder on a run.
Miller tweaked his ankle a few weeks ago and with just Payton it was a lot of wildcat and was a massive step down. They probably have a guy sitting behind both of them but right now I haven't seen one.

One thing that significantly helps the DSU’s and MSU in regards to QB play is having consistently good OL play. It takes a lot of pressure off a young QB, almost to the point where they can be “just a guy” for a little bit. It’s pretty rare for a QB at this level to be a consistently high level passer, they need game reps, not practice reps, to develop that skill. A strong OL helps so much, and obviously, leads to a strong running attack. Takes the pressure off until that QB is ready to rip it, like Tommy is this year, like Gronowski or Miller even compared to their first years.

And playing in Frisco this year will be well worth it! I recall that SDSU National Championship team had 25 seniors playing. Very similar to this group.

Yeah I hate the fact that we are posting “Likely Transfer Portal guys.” We have no idea what these kids are thinking about doing or what their situation is. What the hell are we doing?

I think it's perfectly ok to speculate on who may leave in the transfer portal era. If we want all out no restriction free agency in college football, then we can certainly speculate. It's no different than folks who speculate on pending free agents in professional sports, possible trade candidates etc. Let's stop acting like these young men (not kids) are fragile little boys whom nobody can every say anything about.

Guys like Reed and Stillwell are obvious transfer portal risks because they have been passed up on the depth chart. Stillwell fell even further out of favor during the UNM game, and the play of Taki U only solidifies his depth chart slide. Conner Moore is from OH and is clearly good enough to play high level FBS, those types of guys are always a risk to leave the program.

To me it’s just the wording choice. Possible portal players? Absolutely.
To phrase them as “likely portal players” just seems unfair. We have no idea what their thoughts and intentions are at this point.

Do you think the first time those players think about it is when they read Lord Vigo’s post labeling them as likely transfers?

And if we think MSU is losing a bunch of Seniors next season, take a look at how many SDSU lost last season, at least ten more than what we'll lose this season..... and look at them go. I thought they'd take a big step back but doesn't appear to be the case. That's a machine, and I think we're a machine as well. We'll find out.

Uhhh, ok? Why do you say that?
I knew it would cause some commotion over here. He’s not playing and he’s really good. He probably is better than any of our current backups. I think Fife has another year? If they roll with him, maybe Ah Yat looks to transfer. In that case why not take a shot at him? And yes, I understand the griz dna in his blood….

Was he underrecruited or did he go there because his dad did? If it's the first one we could have a very tiny chance but if it's the second then he's probably staying unless he ends up hating the coaching staff.
