My lodging costs have been nearly $0 over the past two years. This includes trips to San Diego, Flagstaff, Ogden, Sacramento, multiple work trips to Kalispell and Bozeman. The Kalispell and Bozeman work trips have been money makers for lodging (per diem). I've spent about $1,500 in lodging during that timeframe, but I've gotten all of it back. I would guess I've spent 50 nights out of town during that stretch. If you figure $200/night, that's $10,000 ($5,000/year) I realize it's not for everyone, and impossible for some, but there are ways around hotels.

This project will be really transformative. The stadium feels much more a part of campus and not sitting all by itself in the middle of a hay field like it did in the 70's and pretty much all through the 80's.

Re: Parking
Thanks AFCAT for the photos. The photos got me thinking. There will be an additional workload of plowing the new paved lots that I had no thought of until now. Im sure it just gets added onto the current plowing plan. However, I wonder where they will stack it all and not bury someones tailgate spot. We are very fortunate to have these problems.

Re: Parking
They were already plowing the tailgate lots as they had already started charging campus folks to park in them. Kind of unfair to charge someone but the only time they get plowed is for football games.CodyCat wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2024 7:10 amThanks AFCAT for the photos. The photos got me thinking. My understanding of the answer to this question is, with one exception, NO. When talking to the ticket office earlier this spring, they stated that the parking lot next to the fieldhouse would still be free parking but all other parking facilities (i.e. the parking garage and all of the dorm parking lots on campus) would be pay to park on home football game Saturdays unless you already have a student parking pass.

Some serious drainage work needed for that much asphalt. Have they already started work at the stadium. If not, it seems like a tight schedule for a fall completion.AFCAT wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 7:36 amParking lots and other stuff

Yes, all work is underway as can be seen by the pics that AFCAT posted earlier in this thread. Can also see a lot in the drone photos he posted here: https://bobcatnation.com/bobcatbb/viewt ... 60#p867429The Butcher wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 7:51 amSome serious drainage work needed for that much asphalt. I have a buddy working his butt off up there and the way he tells it, it will be done by game day no matter what. He said if they have to work 7 days a week from now until then, it will be done. But yes, it's a huge job. Can't wait to see the final product and where the hell my new parking spaces will be.kmax wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 8:10 amYes, all work is underway as can be seen by the pics that AFCAT posted earlier in this thread. Re: Parking
Those drone pics are very nice. Despite not having been fully paved I would think some of the drainage may have already been in place. I haven't taken a real close look at how much dirt they're taking out of there, so I may be completely off on that. The previous layout had to have had some drainage though. ???ilovethecats wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 8:26 amI have a buddy working his butt off up there and the way he tells it, it will be done by game day no matter what. Re: Parking

I see the new fire station is coming along near the stadium. I wonder how they will pull into traffic when Kagy is clogged with game day traffic? This is from Google Earth Street View. Their photos are recent showing all the paving work around the stadium.
As for the future hotel, I would think it makes more sense to build it out closer to the corner of 7th and Kegy rather than next to an already congested area of campus.
A new “luxury” student apartment complex going to be built west of the stadium. Does student and luxury belong in the same sentence ? ?
