Coaching genius on the onside kick and fake punt.Bobcat Sig wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2024 11:02 pmConsidering Idaho’s youth; I expect them to be a favorite to win the Big Sky next year. And I have tremendous respect for Eck; what a gamer. I loved watching him try to out-fox Vigen. It made for some great football tonight.

Why no Scottre tonight? I was hoping Rohan might be back.

Some people are a lot like slinkies....... Not really good for much, but it puts a smile on your face to watch them fall down a set of stairs.

It is a curious situation to be honest. For both.
Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

My one huge frustration: Scottre was hurt when we were up 32 points with 3 minutes left in the 3rd Q against a very overmatched team.Run-the-ball wrote: ↑Fri Dec 13, 2024 11:57 pmWhy no Scottre tonight? I was hoping Rohan might be back.
He should never have been in. Ditto Mellott in the 4th quarter today and Polidore on the 2 point conversion.
Adam Jones gave a great effort today, is a really good back and adds something in the passing game that Scottre doesn't , but Scottre just has that extra juice/power that we lack without either him and Davis.

Idaho came out with some swagger. I knew they could hit a shot or two. We looked nervous-dropping passes and having a hard time getting the run going...then Eck does that failed onside kick and it's an avalanche. The defense really figured them out. Glad I got into the stadium to see Johnson's interception-that was awesome. I just can't hardly believe what my eyes are seeing. Idaho is good-we shouldn't undersell this blowout-the Vandals are a good team.

That might have been one of my most favorite Bobcat games that I have watched. The way it started, kind of thought it was going to be a back and forth game until the last drive of the game. Just like that, everything changed and it was so fun to watch it unravel like that.
Punters are people too!!

Hell of a rebound and way to capitalize when we needed too! Really don't like the fact the starters were in for so long, let's keep it going vs South Dakota! (Only because I don't want to play another rematch)

Interesting to hear what Eck and players said after the game. Jaxon said that wad the best o-line they played all year. Which is impressive considering they played Oregon. Eck supports Tommy for the Walter Payton, as he does deserve it. Pretty cool to see such high praise.

What buried Idaho in both contests was the middle right that Vigen talks about. Absolutely dominated that segment of both games. The TD before the half and then the pick to start the third quarter were impressive.

Was what I assumed it’d be, though a slow start. We’re just so much better than them, and that didn’t suddenly change in two months.
I like their squad. Team has a little swagger which is cool to see. If their play starts matching that swagger they could be pretty good in coming years.

Yeah, MSU was making mistake after mistake in the first half but the score was still 10-10 and they were in pretty decent shape even though Idaho was playing well. Then the wheels fell off for Idaho.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 6:58 amWas what I assumed it’d be, though a slow start. - The onside kick looked like it easily could have worked had the ball bounced ahead. Great job by the MSU players over there to recognize the yard lines and leave the ball alone instead of trying to jump on it.
- The fumble off their own offensive lineman.
- When MSU was driving to go up 24-10, Eck called a time out right after the 2-minute break which ended up giving MSU enough time to score again after Idaho had to punt.
31-10 at halftime and the game is basically over.
Every mistake Idaho made, MSU jumped on it and capitalized immediately. That's what championship teams do even when they aren't playing at their best, which I don't think MSU did by any means last night.

I saw Rohan on the sidelines a bunch on TV but didn't see Scottre. Rohan was having a blast! Sure hope he can play next week. And Scottre too of course. Curious how serious his injury is as Rohan seemed okay. I am wondering if keeping them out was just precautionary? Clearly Adam, Coon and White handled things fine but sure would like those guys back!

It’s win or go home. I think if Scottre could have played he would’ve.nanacat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2024 8:27 amI saw Rohan on the sidelines a bunch on TV but didn't see Scottre. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. But I don’t ever remember a Bobcat entering the portal and still playing in the game. I think it’s awesome
