Re: Tommy to the Raiders
Sorry to derail the thread with a travel question... Heading to Seattle with my wife and two teenagers to watch Tommy's Raiders and catch a couple of Mariner's games. We've stayed close to the stadiums in the past, but this year are staying north near Lynnwood. Bought parking for the M's games and now I see that I-5 is under construction all month. Wondering if I should skip the driving/parking and use the light rail for back and forth travel to the games? Anybody used it and have any advice on post-game travel? I'm sure the stations are crowded the closer one gets to the stadium. Is it worth the 40-minute ride each way? It's inexpensive for sure... hopefully it's the way to go.

YES, I would always recommend public transportation options for traveling to and from sporting events. I haven't used Seattle's system but we always take the light rail to get to and from Rockies games in Denver. Have also done it many other places once or twice like Chicago, DC/Baltimore, and San Francisco. If you have convenient access to a station from your hotel or can use a park-and-ride station it's definitely the way to go to avoid parking fees and fighting the traffic. It also makes it easier to enjoy a couple drinks at the games if you want without needing to worry about driving after. Post-game trains will definitely be crowded but usually they clear out fairly quickly as fans get off at their various stops.RUACAT wrote: ↑Mon Jul 28, 2025 9:29 amSorry to derail the thread with a travel question... Yes agreed, rail to the games is super easy and really nice way to get there and back without having to deal with traffic and parking.

I've used the light rail in Denver several times and found it convenient for me. Union Station stop is only a bit over 1/4 mile from the field so not an onerous walk.MSU01 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 28, 2025 9:47 amYES, I would always recommend public transportation options for traveling to and from sporting events. I like using public transport if can...just saves the hassle of fighting traffic and parking. We were in Philly last month for first time and took Uber to the game because we weren't familiar with their rail system.... Uber driver told us how/where to connect with their rail system and which train direction and nearest stop to get home. It was within a block of the stadium to catch the train so was great getting back.
Go for it! and if you get their early its always fun to walk around and explore a new ball park.

Super easy, just jam packed with people after the game. not great, if you aren't okay with people in your personal bubble. We are going to the Ichiro weekend in a couple weeks.RUACAT wrote: ↑Mon Jul 28, 2025 9:29 amSorry to derail the thread with a travel question... I've rode the light rail in Seattle to go to games. Super easy, but full going back. Works great if you want to have a couple beers at the game. I-5 is a nightmare. Ride the rail.

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like light rail is the way to go. Now just need to figure out my combo Seahawks/Tommy gear. Go Tommy! Go Hawks! Go M's!

Re: Tommy to the Raiders
Lynnwood's light rail station is now open so it should be super easy to get to the stadium, but coming back it will be packed to the gills! Still the best way to go.

Expecting a packed train post game but assuming it clears out a little bit the further north you get?luckyirishguy25 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 28, 2025 11:55 amLynnwood's light rail station is now open so it should be super easy to get to the stadium, but coming back it will be packed to the gills! Not to be too much of a Debbie Downer but this is still not the official team depth chart. Just someone's best guess of what it will look like.

Is it someone that knows what they’re talking about?
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Just wondering because if it is then it’s possible that Mellott is doing better than some think.

I'd assume that it's someone who knows enough to make a good educated guess, but I'm not sure if we're far enough into the process yet for anyone to have a very solid grasp of exactly what the depth chart will look like.

It appears to be the ESPN Raiders' depth chart again.

Re: Tommy to the Raiders
Thanks... much appreciated! We decided to do light rail for Seahawks and the Friday Mariners game. We're in section 148 on the north side for the Seahawks so I was thinking International District. We're doing the pre-game tour for the Mariners on Friday so will be heading to the parking garage before the game so thinking the Stadium stop, but not sure which station to hit post-game.MSUBRONCO wrote: ↑Wed Jul 30, 2025 9:05 amSeattle native here, been going sehawks games since was 5 def do light rail from lynwood.
