IF this project is delayed. Does anyone think it could be completely put off until the winter/spring. We have to have at least a game clock and play clock down there.

With the season looming, I am sure that if the project is to be completed this year the Contractor has had the locations on the field surveyed and all the utilities located and marked. The markings should be visible from the stands or close by.

Anyone else a bit frustrated with the lack of communication on this project? Is it happening or not?

Or maybe there was some announcement/update that I just missed?

I dont think there has ever been a public announcement of the project other than the solicitation for bids.

Someone posted that the bid document said substantial completion by august 1. I didn’t see the bid document.

Other than Daktronics to remove the existing video board there is very little in the plans and specs as to the new Video Board. There are a few notes on the electrical plans with what portion Daktronics is to provide. Page 7 of the plans has this note that reads "VIDEO SCOREBOARD AND CONNECTION
PER DAKTRONICS". Daktronics must have a separate contract.

Like I said before, I can have the old video/scoreboard board removed in less than an hour. I’m just waiting for the phone call.

Also, maybe this is decent sign….

Ball State is finally catching up with the rest of the Mid-American Conference programs and installing video screens in its football stadium and basketball arena. The Scheumann Stadium screen will be installed the week of Aug. 19 and will be ready for the season-opening game Aug. 29.

Daktronics is located in of course Brookings South Dakota. SDSU is afraid of The Bobcats this fall. They are working on the programming to where monte the gris mascot pops up in random replays.

It isn't going in this year. I've heard that the bids were all over the allocated amount. Official word on this is coming soon.

I am guessing the costs went up, a lot. Sadly it is most likely spring 2024 for getting this completed.

Only one bid and it does appear to be high, but its a rush job, short lead time for materials, short time to complete.

I have inspected the installation and testing of helical piers as well as installation of a lot of structural steel assemblies from Nevada to Northern Sweden. I am sure we would have no problem assembling a team to do the work, we might be a little short on equipment.
