Who cares if the players prayed in the middle of the field? Most people don't need spectators to pray. Do you really think that is something worth bragging about/noting?hbk999 wrote:All of our players go to the middle and pray and only 3 or 4 MSU players did that.

I taked to one of the guys they shaked hands after the game, the TV showed the guys that were still celebrating. ASU invited our team to take part in a prayer after the game.CelticCat wrote:What was with the App players refusing to shake hands after the game? My POINT was not to brag, but to point that that after every game this year we have invited the other team in for a prayer immediately following the game, and usually the handshake occurs AFTER THAT,but since very few MSU players came to the middle, very few got handshakes.Bay Area Cat wrote:Who cares if the players prayed in the middle of the field? I think you guys have completely overreacted to some of the things you are mad about. What the hell is wrong with our chancellor being proud and being a big fan? This is why the student body loves him.As far as professionalism or class, where the hell do you get off jumping on App when there are thugs like Leblanc playing for MSU?Look at your own program before you jump all over somebody elses.1BadBobcat wrote:You have no clue about class, professionalism, or tact. Apologies ... in the context of the thread, I read that as a criticism of the MSU players, although I now see that wasn't your intent.hbk999 wrote:My POINT was not to brag, but to point that that after every game this year we have invited the other team in for a prayer immediately following the game, and usually the handshake occurs AFTER THAT,but since very few MSU players came to the middle, very few got handshakes.Bay Area Cat wrote:Who cares if the players prayed in the middle of the field? Perhaps ASU should change its post-game style so that they are available for handshakes with the opposing team first, and then those that want to do the prayer can do so. That might avoid any future misunderstandings and assure that an opportunity to shake hands after the game is available for everyone.

No question. . . Furman fans are WAY more of a class act. I'd take you guys on this board anytime. Re: Note to MSU Fans...
[quote="appspinzone"] It all started early in the game, however, with a no-call face-punch thrown by your #5 Marcosus LeBlanc.
I saw that on ESPN as well. LeBlanc punched back after an ASU player punched him in the chest.
Also I think you misunderstand what Kramer said before the game or you saw quotes I didn't see. He talked about how good ASU was and hoped that MSU could play at the same level. What you are probably refering to is Coach Kramer saying that we wouldn't be intimidated of the game and that we would play to our abilities and show what we can do. Kramer says it the way it is. But he doesn't talk trash before the game. The comment he said about the flex defense was he didn't think ASU had seen it yet this year and that some teams have a hard time dealing with it. Obviously ASU didn't have trouble with it.
The post game interview posted on this site has nothing but praise for ASU from Kramer. The only comment he had against ASU was when asked to compare your stadium to Wash Griz at UM. His comment no comparison. UM is a tougher place to play since the noise is louder but he thought ASU was moving that direction.
It was a fun game even though we didn't win.
Good luck next week.

I will say this once to everyone so listen up.
Everyone here is entitled to their opinion but you have to take it both ways. I took your "Deliverance", "Hot Hot Hot", "Hillbilly" jokes all week in stride. I've been berated for just being an App fan here. You may call us "classless" and such, but you are no angels yourself. We've had a couple of people come over and dish out stuff which can be considered "classless", but I can count a good number of you who can fall under the same train.
I've tried to remain with class for this week, but I've been tempted to go off a few times. For about half of you, your nothing but negative jerks.
And before someone tells me "Then don't post here", no, because I like posting here and getting to know people that I'd otherwise never know, have intellectual discussions, etc.
So please check yourself and try to be objectionable and open to other ways before showing your hide.

hbk999,
There have been plenty of championship teams in the past that strangers embrace and there are those that people don't or even dislike a lot. What creates this difference in perception?
My guess it could be a combination of several factors. A) Is there extracurricular play by the contestants during the match? Or, do they exhibit high levels of sportsmanship? B) How do their fans react to its team's success?
I'm sure there are others possibilities too. Personally, I can take the players on the field talking a little smack with one another better then I can fans who don't handle the success with modesty.
There have been some of my posts with a fairly sharp tongue since the game yesterday that were directed to a few ASU posters. Before the game, I got a real chip on my shoulder toward much of your online fan base due to their attitudes; which seems to really be contributing to the "ASU Haters Club" as many on AGS have about had enough it seems. But, some of you folk have come on and provided good conversation material.
If only there were more of the few of you.

T-Dog, I think you will find that most of our posts here are in response to some of your fans coming onto the board after the game was over and kind of rubbing it in our faces. Yes, you guys have an outstanding team and you beat us handily. A couple of the posts made by App fans started out as being congratulatory in nature and then later turned negative. We get it - you won, we lost. This has been an extremely emotional, up-and-down year for Cat fans, players, coaches, etc. We just want to lick our wounds and get ready for what promises to be another good season next year. Congratulations on your victory, and good luck against YSU.T-Dog wrote:I will say this once to everyone so listen up.

From an outsider's standpoint you may be right. But, I just got back from your website where I was going to have my crow that I promised the other posters if we lost. I couldn't do it. I read about twenty posts (particularly the ones where they are commenting about what's being said here) and had to leave as I was concerned about what I would say.
I'm not sure what to say to you. We have other team's fans come on here all season and there has never been the issue that we have with your fans. The only time it ever gets close to this ugly is with the Griz during Cat/Griz week. And, even then it's more playful and rivalry driven then what's gone on with you folks.
I know this, the next time our two teams square off, I'll be particularly excited for that game!
