You sure you were not booing your basketball team silly?

I'm here a little late, but to confirm that the positive responses to the Cat's romp over Furman was the loudest I've heard ever for any team in the stadium. And I heard no booing or negatives - probably because the cheering was so loud.

Take care of Appy Cats. They appear to be the real deal. We'll do our best against Southern Illinois.

That would be something. I wonder how many folks would go to see something like that?

There was an overwhelming cheer for the Cats in Wash/Griz stadium as the score was announced. Just a smattering for the Griz in your stadium, huh? Wish you guys could get past the last loss to us and do as to us as you would have us do unto you. :)

I was there and don't remember the PA even making an announcement regarding scores for the Griz game. Periodically, they would put up scores on the TV screen. It's not like there was a uniform effort to not cheer for the Griz.

i think it also has something to do with the Griz beating us the week before and always being in the playoffs. It is a compliment to you that teams would like you out of the playoffs. I also think that Montana in general is happy for the cats to be back in the playoffs and getting a chance at home. That is old Montana pride.

Two montana teams in the top 8, great weekend.

Personally I don't really care that Griz fans cheered for us in their stadium. I won't cheer for the Griz once this year, but I will admit that it would be pretty sweet to see a Cat/Griz NC game.

Hey we both have fans that we are embarrassed of, I know that everyone one I go to the game with is cheering for the griz to loose in Tennessee to the Cats. But until then Go Griz Go.

I know I cheered when they gave the Griz score (if you really knew me, you'd be pulling yourself up off the floor right now). There would be nothing better than a Cat/Griz rematch for the National Championship. We now have the tougher road to hoe with a road game to Appy, but hope we can hold up our end of the bargain. The Griz should roll again next Saturday at home.

I posted this at egriz as to why I am rooting for the GRIZ and cats?

Griz/Cat fans is quite a difference than many states.

Football is king in Montana. As is in TX, FL, OH and PA. Difference is that these states are hotbeds for talent and have many more players than MT. They have huge populations. They have many major college and pro teams to devote their efforts too. In Montana it is the GRIZ and CATS, that is it!!!!!

If the Griz/cats rematch in Chatty, it is the biggest news the state could ever have. The state gets national recogniton and the programs go down in history as the 1st div 1a (subdivision) championship played against schools from the state in a tournament format!!!!!

Even if 1A (bcs) goes to a playoff format GRIZ/CATS will have their place in history, just as the GRIZ will in consecutive playoff appearances. Those are things I am and would be proud of regarding the GRIZ and the state!!!!!

As much as I hate the CATS when we play them, I respect them and root for them for the conference, the state, and making history. Imagine the stories Montanan's can tell pass along to generations about the NC game in 2006..........That appeals to me, regardless of which team you root for.

Also the recognition helps both programs and the conference in terms of recruiting better players nationally. The only drawback with an all MT final would be the misery for the loser.

GO GRIZ and CATS, make MT prouder!!!!!

I think it had to do with that we were very loud and involved with this game, the griz were not on anyones mind. We directed our attention to the team at hand, furman. I do not think the score was ever anounced but just displayed on the score board screen.

That's more than they've done in the four games at Reno H. Sales I went to.

Maybe things have changed, but they only times they would announce the score at Reno H. Sales was when the Griz were behind.

Are you intentionally calling the stadium the wrong name repeatedly? If so, why?
