Each flyover costs about $12,000 dollars, has to be okayed by the FAA, and each school gets one (1) per season.
Now i know your lieing cause we have allready had two!
It was in the Tribune article about the two pilots who did the fly over for the Cat/Griz game. They have to be approved by the FAA and also signed off on in DC. MANG allows each school ONE per year, and apparently MSU usually tries to get Homecoming. I think the $12,000 cost is for planes, not for the apaches that we had against UNC, but I'm not completely sure on that cost. I will see if I can find the article to post in here.
Then that means we still have one coming from the MANG, cause the warthogs were out of Idaho.

Here is my question..the Warthogs were from the Idaho Air National Guard, not sure who flew the Apaches(probably the regular Guard in Helena) so does this mean we still can get our one from the MANG? If so that would be sweet!

Like you said, the article says MANG does one per year per school, but I would guess the helicopters (I think it was a chinook and two blackhawks) are not MANG, but Army.

Doh. You beat me.

I like the way you two are thinking! I would love another flyover!

I just talked to MANG Operations and they said they don't have anything scheduled. They said they would have to get a request from the University, so if anyone knows anyone at the Athletic Department, have them make the call!

Here's the article with the info I posted earlier.
MANG allows one flyover per university each year. One flyover costs around $12,000, must gain approval from Washington D.C. and takes a crew of 30 people to get the job done. (Many of whom also are Montana university alumni, sacrificing the opportunity to watch the game to work on their day off.)

Hopefully, somebody get's a phone call in and we can have something on Saturday. I can't wait!
