I'm sorry. But you have to play an entire season. Every game counts. There is no "off" weekend. How can you lose to:

Division II Chadron State at home.

UC Davis by 45-0 at home.

Lowly Eastern Washington at home.

And still make the playoffs ahead of Portland State.

PSU had a I-A win and suffered 2 I-A losses ON THE ROAD.

PSU power ranking far greater than MSU.

PSU season over and Cats still play. Nothing but Stunning.

Fullerton's job will be short-lived after this stunning fiasco.
We beat Portland State in head to head match up. That has to count for something. Also, I am sure the $$$ that the NCAA will make on the game in Bozeman helped too.

Crazycat - Attaboy :)

Air Griz - I'm sure you're not the only one wondering. Heck, I'll even admit I was surprised to find out (almost drove off the road on the way back from Missoula this morning when I found out; a buddy had his phone up to the tv as the announcements were made). But, in reflection, here's why I think we made it over them:

1) We were hotter at the end

2) We played the Griz in an all out battle that was a close game

3) We beat them in head to head

I know people keep mentioning the three game skid. That period was hardest on our team and our fans who had to suffer through the embarassment and questions that came of it. But, the team "steeled" because of it and has turned into a better team then PSU.

In the end, playing three money games just came back to bite PSU in the butt.

I'm sure there are those who question our worthyness
I really didn't; I thought perhaps MSU had a chance over Eastern Illinois because they only had two victories over .500 teams although 8 - 4. Other than Towson, UNI, Cal Poly & PSU (all of which were 7 - 4) who else was there to consider?

And if only one team from the Ohio Valley I though perhaps UNI as well since they had just defeated then #6 Illinois St.

So get after those Paladins Rufus!!!

Congrats Cats on getting in. You're my second favorite team in the post season now. If we lose along the way I'll be pulling for you to win the whole thing. I'm suprised you got in but I thought you deserved it over PSU after beating them head to head. Represent the
Big Sky and give Furman hell. Nice job and congrats again.
